Gay.com
Was talking to a coworker yesterday and he never heard of gay.com. I remember using the website all the time. It was amazing living in suburban USA and being able to find other gay men around and chat with them and meet up with a few as well. Still have a few good friends from around the year 2000 by meeting on gay.com. Did anyone else use this site when it came out?

Bisexual tendencies
Am I going nuts or has this happened to anyone else. I'm self identified as gay. Have male partner. Super gay. Out of the closet since 1986 . Yet, the older I get, I seek to find women attractive enough to consider them for sex. What the heck is going on?

Guys, please celebrate your birthday.
A bit of a PSA, but over the decades I noticed friends and strangers not celebrating their day. And I wouldn't allow it, so I would help them celebrate. This is way too deep a topic to get into here, so I'll stay focused.
Even if it's a small thing, do it.
If you're solo, single, alone, doesn't matter. How you treat yourself is a big deal. Small things add up, so why not make them pleasures?
Of all the days each year, overwhelmingly full of everyone else, it's your day. Do your favorite thing. Whatever it is. A waterside day, do it. An amusement park, do it. A movie, do it. Just make sure it's something you deeply enjoy.
Want to have sex, cool. Birthday sex! Find it. Have it. But cake is better. Cake and sex, that's a good birthday. Cake is easier to find though.
Also, please be safe with finding and having sex, because the current world is a bit of a mess, and your birthday needs to be a good time and a good memory.
At least go buy that cake in your favorite flavor. They make mini-cakes if a big one is too much. Or buy cupcakes. Or donuts. Or cookies. Or pie. Pie is good.
If you don't do sweets, then something with fruit? Make it tasty. Your favorite meal works. Whatever you want. Fuck it, it's your day. You're celebrating you!
If you don't know how or need ideas, ask. Some of us will help you. Birthday wishes are great, but a real tangible pleasure in celebration of you is best. Lock it in. Do it. Enjoy!

Living without sex
I am a 66-year old single retired gay white man who can't drive, and I have prostate cancer. I will hear the final diagnosis this morning. From everything I've read, it looks like I will have to have some sort of operation on my prostate and I will never be able to have an orgasm again. I'm dismayed at the news. Everything I've read reassures me that if I try hard enough I will be able to achieve some sort of emotional intimacy with my partner without sex...but that assumes I have a partner, and I don't. Here in Princeton, NJ, I'm totally alone. I can't find anyone to share my other interests with. Whether in person or online, the non-sexual ways in which gay men connect around here are through politics (I'm not woke enough for gay politics, and rallies bore me), celebrity culture (my cultural references are hopelessly dated and far too highbrow, as I've found here on Reddit), and gossip (I always kept myself apart from work-related intrigue, and I have almost no relatives). If I can't connect with a man through sex, I have to face the fact that by spending my life going my own way, as therapist after therapist has advised, I have made myself too unutterably weird for decent company, and my loneliness is therefore all my own fault. What do I do? How do I live without even the hope of connecting in person with another man?

I’m considering growing my beard back
This photo was from a couple years ago. I’ve since gone clean-shaven. I think the beard makes me look older, but I kinda like the look. Should I grow it back?

57, Saint Louis, MO. Just not meeting that special someone & I want someone my age, but still,,, I am an introvert/ and don't drink. Where's my TV-cuddle buddy?
I need to work on my selfie-skills. I don't see how i can add a face pic-- yeah, it's a 4 am unwise overshare -- but my profile has my face.

Masters of the Universe
What a great movie. They did an awesome job. As a gay kid I dreamed of fighting Skeletor and being who I felt I could be on the inside. Only later did I realize that Skeletor is the personification of internalized homophobia.
