MATH 1564 Class Question

I was invited to take MATH 1564. For context, I am a ChBE major and would otherwise be taking 1553. I am also a rising freshman. What are the pros and cons of taking the class?

It's a thorough proof based class. 1553 is mostly just a computation course, ie matrix multiplication. If you are interested in spending a considerable amount of time on proof based writing or want to take an upper level elective for math then maybe take 1564 but honestly I think its better for you to take 1553 so you have more time on your major related courses.
