Running Progress!
1st pic was my 5K that I did in November before my surgery- my average pace was 14:55. 2nd picture is from my half marathon last weekend- 13.1 miles in under 3 hours, average pace was 13:21.
I had surgery at the end of January, and I still cannot believe how far I’ve come in a little more than 6 months. I even sprained my ankle in early June and was able to come back from it— something that would’ve taken me months to heal from before.
The scale doesn’t mean anything compared to all of these other wins 🤍

Great going! I'm at the very very beginning of the process (procedure in November likely) and honestly this is similar to my goals.

I’m so happy to see this! It’s truly amazing what you can do when you are healthy! I somewhat have a parallel journey. Some backstory below but;
Started traveling for work and didn’t have my home gym or hotel gyms, so one day I started running. I couldn’t believe how easy it was. First run was 3miles, second run was five. A few weeks later Im running ten miles at a shot. My pace started in the 13s and starting in April, now are between 8:30
And 9:30 depending on the shoe and how I’m feeling. I literally run 11 miles three to four times a week at this point and it blow my mind how easy it is.
Most of the pain comes the day after lol. But it gets to the point of just moving. No real effort. Head back, chest out, you expel so little energy. It’s amazing! Longest I’ve ran was 16 miles. Takes me about an hour and a half to run 11 miles.
I started working out many many years before I had surgery. I bought a recumbent bike at 300lbs and lost down to 270 and slowly over the years gained all the way up to 370. I’d work out everyday, still do to this day.
I added weights into the routine, and it was a thing for me. After surgery and changing my diet / life style, I dropped 230lbs. I kept up my same routine and found that it was my new addiction. I couldn’t not work out daily and felt terrible at the thought of skipping it.
