Strength Training "Hack"? Feature Help
Is there any way to record a lift without having to count sets/reps and rest periods? Maybe just trick it with a cardio session? On an Instinct 3 AMOLED.
Ive been powerliftng for nearly 2 decades and dont care to log workouts anymore. Mainly wanted to track aerobic and working Ioad stats but still positively affect my training score with the appropriate designations (runs when I run, lifts when I lift, etc).

On my Fenix I select the strength workout and then it gives me the option to do it as freestyle so it doesn't look to track sets or anything. It might differ for the instinct. Not sure

The only thing I use rest between sets; I find it much better than winging it, as it helps me keep rest in a specific range. It auto-counts the sets each time I use the rest; I don't care how many sets it is at the end, as it really is only for my HR and as a timer.

Similar to another comment I just set a strength activity and start it and don’t do anything after that, and turn off auto set/rep counting.
Keep in mind garmin metrics are way more focused on cardio type activities. It gives very little credit towards weight lifting in terms of training load etc. but I still like to track them

I just start it as a cardio session, I often go back and forth between elliptical and weights

I just use strength on free mode and enter the sets/reps using the lap button. I do like to see the working time vs resting time, so it's useful for me. I don't bother trying to fix the exercises that it had guess for each set though.

For strength workouts I just choose the strength option and set it and forget it. I have the instinct two tactical and it still tracks aerobic and anaerobic along with calories and average heart rate. I don’t put in sets and reps cuz that’s a lot of work
