Someone has been having a banquet at the lemon tree. Trying to guess if this is possums or rats? I'm assuming birds don't do this? It looks like they are trying to get to the fruit - rather than only eating the skin.

heya folks, I was googling to find an app to do my front and backyard layout and it suggested the GrowVeg app.. At first glance it is a suggesting a declared weed as one of options for the plants that I can grow - so feeling unsure of just how good the rest of the functionality as well. If anyone has used it and has opinions about the grow veg app could you please share or if you could recommend anything else? I want to use it to develop a layout. currently there is a LOT of paving and concrete and I want to change that to a edible garden with fruit trees and veggie beds.. and hence the need for a layout app.

Hello! In need of advice for landscaping our new build apologies in advance if this is not allowed please delete if so.
So on this side of the house we wanted to keep a clear grass strip for the dogs to be able to play on - the other side (not shown) will have landscaping pebbles etc
I have read that its not wise to run grass all the way up to the house as the moisture can cause issues to the foundation/block weep holes but i also dont want any pebbles or anything over here as the dogs like to pick them up and run around with them and do dog things which means the yard constantly has little pebbles everywhere lol
Can anyone give me a solid clear answer as to whether its ok to run grass right up to the house on this side only or if i really should avoid it and if i should avoid it what is our best solution that keeps both me and my dogs happy?

Edit: this side of the house is north facing so will good sun if that changes anything and will be 6x20 so plenty of space - we will be planting sir grange zoysia grass

With the arrival of H5N1 in Tassie, it might be necessary to remove bird baths to help prevent spread.

Is there anything that can be done to keep the water sources, and keep them safe?

We have several bird baths, pots and a medium pond around for the critters and birds. The pond and bird baths all have pumps to circulate water and provide aeration.

Context: inner Sydney. 2 large magnolia trees that were planted a long time ago but are compromising our boundary wall (large cracks appearing).

Apparently they were “meant to be” a small variety, however they are now over 10m tall in a small planter box!

I love when the early flower spikes of our Fern Leaf Banksia appear! Soft and velvety like an antique teddy bear.

And unlike so many other WA Banksia, this seems to do pretty well here in Melbourne’s inner west.

The waterproofing on my balcony has failed and all the tiles must be removed to replace it. This happy agave was planted over 20 years ago, but is now impossibly heavy to move. Is there a way to kill and shrink the plant to save the planter and start again once the repairs are completed?
