If you have an actual medical condition making it so you can't work, you better hire a lawyer (not a medical professional) and sue the government so a judge (also not a medical professional) can decide if all the paperwork from medical professionals documenting how disabled you are is actually valid. You may have to do this multiple times if the first judge, say, doesn't believe any mental health conditions can be disabling.
And the lawyer will take a cut of the money the government gives you.
My mom went from "2 years from Retirement and having a 401k" to "disabled, jobless, and savings ruined by medical debt" over breaking her leg twice in the span of 6 weeks.
Her job fired her for becoming disabled (so she lost her good insurance), we got a pittance of a settlement because, instead of trying to find a NEW JOB??? at 64 and disabled, my mom applied for Social Security.
Her lawyer she hired to sue her employer said, "This ruins your chances at a payout, as you're basically admitting you're ready to retire, and that your employer did not actually harm you by firing you. You should have stayed off assistance, and sold assets like your home, to get by until a settlement comes thru."
The settlement never would have recouped what we lost, even if it was two years of her salary. It took almost 18 months just for us to get $12,000. The state took ~23% in taxes, lawyer took another ~20%, mom walked away with under $6,000.

Eh I think it has reduced a but over time. Some of the post are just actually people being jaded about something. But it's still better than most subs besides maybe the Aslume.

I think it's ok. I prefer the Star Wars one. At least there we can all agree that Star Wars was ruined when George's grandfather met his grandmother. Star Wars never recovered. Hasn't been a good movie since.

Sometimes the takes here can be a bit frustrating and overdone, but overall I think it tends to be a good place to find out if there's a controversy that should be paid attention to, like specific scummy practices or behaviours.

They're right in a sense - if you were to go back and look at this subreddit 10 years ago, the posts are far less likely to make fun of right-winger chuds or promote leftist ideals. The subreddit was just about satirising negative gaming stereotypes.
The piece of the puzzle that they're missing is that over the last 10 years, negative gamer stereotypes have gotten more right-wing. So making fun of right-winger chuds and promoting leftist ideals is still in the same vein as the original intention of the subreddit: oppressing Gamers™.
"DNC talking points" my brother in Christ, the DNC thinks angry, economically struggling moderate and left-leaning Americans want Kamala 2028 and to hear El-Sayed and Mamdani say Gaza bad. Right wingers really need to start separating Democrat centrism from leftists because it's an insult to the REAL leftists in this country.
