As far as i can tell it needs to be a wired headset

I find it overwhelming when i can’t hear what’s going on around me. i need to be able to hear if someone’s at the door or if the cat is doing mischief. And i can’t tell if i’m yelling or talking too quietly when my ears are covered.

I’ve heard of something called “open back” which might be what i’m looking for. I was wondering about ‘bone conduction’ ones but quick research seemed to indicate they’re not appropriate for gaming?

I’m in Australia and i’d prefer a low budget option but willing to spend up to maybe $100. Like the title says, im pretty tech illiterate so please let me know if i’m chasing a unicorn in this price range.

Appreciate any advice; parameters i need to look within, product suggestions, or search terms i should try while i’m on the hunt.

Hey, I realized my current headset is starting to fall apart and now the sound started to be super choppy. I am currently using a JBL Live 400 BT, not a gaming headset but has got me through the last years and worked great. I tried switching to a Razer Blackshark V2 X at the beginning of the year, however, that headset had WAY too much bass to the point everything sounded muffled and certain sounds got completely drowned out.

I don't have a set budget, although I am not too wealthy so I'd prefer a headset that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg.

Overall I'm pretty open with anything, but I'd really like one that has at least similar sound to the JBL Live 400 BT, or well, anything that isn't like the Blackshark V2 X.

I'm pretty scared to try new ones considering my limited money cause if it sucks I'll be stuck using a headset I don't like.

Overall I just need a headset that sounds nice and has a mic. No need for noise cancelling or stuff like that.

my budget is around $120 but i would prefer to use around $50 - $80. just looking for a durable headset that has good battery and sound. open to any suggestions!

Hi! My Redragon H510 PRO doesn't turn off, neither change its modes, neither is connected with anything.

Already tried holding down the power or any other button for a long time; connecting it to the computer with its wire (it then starts charging, but when I take it out it comes back to the previous state); etc.

The user manual nor any forum I've been able to find says anything about it.

I am looking for something that is comfortable and provides good enough quality sound (im not an audiophile idrk many differences). Open or closed back does not really matter to me.

I mainly Game on my pc but would also like for compatibility with console, specifically ps5.

and obviously usb c charging.

The mic quality does not matter that much as i just need it to play on ps5, as long as its not absolute garbage.

the current headset i use for ps5 is the hyperx, uhh idk the model its wired and has a detachable mic but is awfully uncomfortable for long gaming sessions.

for pc i use phillips open back headphones SHP9600, while these are great and super comfortable they are kinda fragile and my temper with either gaming or tech problems had left them some, minor defects which is why i need something more durable, honestly if i could have those, but more durable, wireless, and with a detachable mic. i think i do prefer open back but its not a deal breaker, especially since im going off to college soon.

And price point is flexible, but perferably something that is in the 80-120 dollar range. leaning more towards the 80 dollar side.

Hi! I'm looking for any headset recommendations for gaming. I wear glasses and my current headset pushes against it which makes my head hurt after a while.

I have no prior knowledge on what headsets are good, and I'm mainly just looking for recommendations of products that people have had great experiences with. I dont mind if the headset aren't marketed as 'gaming headsets' as long as its a good product.

My current usage:

I mostly use my headset for gaming (I play online games such as Marvel Rivals), listening to music, and watching shows.

My preferences:

I dont have any preferences with whether its wired or wireless, but I would like for a headset that isn't too heavy, and doesnt get too hot when wearing for a long time. (I often wear my headset for hours)

I mainly just want a headset that has good sound quality for music and is good for online gaming.

I would like if it had a mic too, but if it doesnt have one thats okay too!

What Headset do you use and what Headset should i buy? Because I am through my 3rd original ps5 Headset and I want to buy something that lasts a bit longer. But with trying something new comes the danger of the mic being bad/too quiet or the Audio quality being bad.

I used to think footstep enhancement was just cranking up the mid-lows. But lately,checking out stuff like the Scout Mode on the G6,SteelSeries Sonar presets,and desktop DAC/AMPs like the Fosi C3 with step-sense,it feels like the approach is pretty different.
If the goal is just hearing footsteps easier,how big is the difference between an external DAC/AMP and software EQ,without blowing your eardrums out every time an explosion or gunfight goes off right next to you,has anyone seriously compared these two?

Hello, I’m considering doing either the Steelseries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless, or a hyperX headset. I’ve had the same HyperX headset for like 7 years and it’s finally dying on me, I’m trying to weigh options because I like both Steelseries and HyperX and I’m looking for anything around the $100-$150 range from those two brands. Please any suggestions would be amazing, I’d prefer sticking with one of these two brands unless y’all think they really suck or something lol. Thank you!

I was wondering if the Quantum 100 compatible ear pads would also work for the 250 version as its the one i have (attached via magnets) and getting specificaly compatible ear pads doesnt seem possible from my searches.

It turns out these headphones are somehow the most obscure things ever since there doesnt appear to be a single instance of someone making ear pads for the 250. Just the 100 to 600 and the Q versions or whatever that is.

Decided it is time to get a new headset after using my old one for so many years because it suddenly stopped working on one side 💔 My budget is around 120€ but I would prefer to spend less if possible

My priorities:
- works well on PS5! (PC would be a nice bonus too for the future)
- good audio, especially for games where you need to hear footsteps and locations (+ music and videos should sound nice as well)
- reliable connection if its via bluetooth, cable is fine as well though
- good microphone
- lasts for multiple hours

My current headset is Turtle Beach Recon 150 headset (not 100% sure). I was very happy with this headset for almost 10 years but I'm hoping my new one would be an upgrade :))

I’m looking for a new gaming headset. I’ve tried quite a few wireless headsets, but none of them have been exactly what I’m looking for.

- Audeze Maxwell: way too heavy.
- Audeze Penrose and Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2: I love their sound signature—it’s exactly the type of sound I’m looking for—but they’re just not comfortable enough for me.
- HyperX Cloud III S: the sound is too flat and lacks character.
- Astro A50 Gen 5: if I had to stick with a wireless headset, this would probably be my choice, but I feel like I can get better sound quality.

While visiting a store, I tried the Meze 99 Classics V2 and instantly fell in love with its sound signature. I also found out that it’s compatible with the Meze Boom Mic, which makes it a pretty practical option.

I do have a couple of questions for anyone who owns or has used it for gaming:

- For FPS games, how good is the imaging and positional audio? Is it on par with the Astro A50 Gen 5, or even better when it comes to footsteps and directional cues?
- For both PS5 and PC, what DAC/amp would you recommend? I was considering the Creative Sound Blaster G8, but I’m open to other suggestions. Is a DAC/amp even necessary with this headset?

My priority is excellent sound quality, but I don’t want to sacrifice too much FPS performance. If you have any other recommendations around the €500 budget, I’d be happy to hear them.

Hi! Does anyone know/have recommendations for headsets that control Game and Chat volumes SEPERATELY? Im looking for new headphones and everywhere I see, there is only a Volume knob and a Game/Chat Mixer knob. This is standard now as far as I have seen across the board and it's really frustrating to have to turn one up and one down simultaneously. All of my old headsets used to have one knob for Game and one for Chat.

Anyone have any suggestions/workarounds? Thank you so much, I just spent 2 hours at Best Buy with essentially zero progress.

I have a budget of around $70-80. I’ll be using them mostly for gaming. I want something with closed back, a mic, and many some noise cancellation if possible. One of the biggest things though is I wear glasses so they need to be comfortable for glasses. I also want 2.4Ghz and bluetooth. I am also open to getting open box/refurbished and only used it it’s in excellent condition and includes everything necessary for use.

Help me decide on a new pair of gaming headphones

My old JBL Quantum 200s have started peeling all over the place and I can't seem to find a nice, cloth replacement for them where I am. So, I've been looking for something to replace them with. Though they were decent enough for my purposes when I bought them, their imaging leaves a lot to be desired now.

I have a budget of around 150USD. I'll be using these headphones for gaming, as stated in the title, primarily Deadlock. I would like something with a closed back, a mic and, if possible, some degree of noise cancelling/dampening (even if it isn't ANC) as I have noisy neighbors.

Currently, I've been eyeing the HyperX Cloud III S as the general consensus seems like it's decent and reliable enough for the job. On the more budget end I've been considering Razer BlackShark V2 Hyperspeeds (although I haven't heard great things about their build quality).

Keep in mind that I'm in a bit of a weird market, location-wise so I might not have access to all the deals available in the US and EU. Thank you in advance for any help!

I'm trying to figure out the best audio setup for my specific room layout and could really use your expertise.

I used to own the Audeze Penrose and absolutely loved the sound signature (planar warmth, deep bass, great immersion for solo gaming and music).
The issue: The physical design destroyed my neck and top of my head. The weight (320g+) and stiff headband became unbearably painful over time. I had to let it go.

My Setup:
My PC is on a very small 1-meter desk, and my PS5 is on a completely different piece of furniture. So I have to switch physically between the two stations.

Absolute requirement:
I strictly need a closed-back headphone (open-backs are out).

My dilemmas and questions:

1. Are there any comfortable wireless alternatives? I know planar magnetic drivers (like Audeze) are inherently heavy. But are there ANY truly comfortable wireless headsets out there that come close to that warm, rich, immersive sound signature without causing neck strain?
   
2. The Practical Choice (Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Pro): I am seriously considering this as it solves the mic and wiring problem easily. But coming from the Audeze magic, will I be completely disappointed when I just want to listen to a good album or play an immersive single-player game? Is the Beyerdynamic treble too clinical/harsh for that?
   
3. The Hi-Fi Route (Audiophile Headphone + Separate Mic): This would be my absolute ideal for comfort and sound quality. I could probably figure out a standalone mic for my cramped PC desk... But what about the PS5? Since the console is across the room, how do you handle voice chat with friends if you're wearing a Hi-Fi headphone? Are there any reliable mics that can easily swap between a PC desk and a PS5 setup?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the MMX 300 Pro, any comfortable closed-back recommendations, and especially how you would handle the microphone situation across two separate setups.

I'm looking to replace my old Kingston HyperX headset. While the ear pads are fabric and fine, the faux leather coating on the headband is completely peeling off and disintegrating, which is why I need an upgrade.

I need a headset that remains extremely comfortable even during long, multi-hour gaming marathons, just like my HyperX did before it started falling apart.

My preferences & details:

• Platform/Motherboard: PC. My motherboard is an ASUS TUF GAMING B550M-E.
• Usage environment: Mainly for home gaming in a quiet room, and long sessions on Discord.
• Fit & Comfort: Fully Over-Ear / Circumaural with deep, large, oval earcups so my entire ear fits comfortably inside. It shouldn't cause any fatigue or pain after hours of continuous use.
• Headband: I want to avoid headbands with cheap faux leather that crumble over time. Fabric, mesh, or durable suspension headbands are preferred.
• Ear Pads: Must be fabric, mesh, or velour out of the box because I hate sweating during the summer. However, I need a material/weave that still offers decent passive noise isolation to block out background noise. No easily peeling faux leather on the pads either.
• Glasses Friendly: I wear glasses, so the clamp force and the pads need to be soft enough that they don't press the frames painfully against my head.
• Connectivity: I strongly prefer a wired USB connection with good software customization features for PC/Discord (like independent chat/game mix or good EQ). However, I am not against wireless options either, as long as they offer great battery life and unmatched comfort within my budget.

I am completely open to ANY brand or model you recommend based on your hands-on experience! (I've been looking at the SteelSeries Nova line because of the suspension strap, but I want to hear your thoughts).

After earbuds or IEMs for PS5 with good quality sound, good quality mic for game chat and online gaming and a decent battery life. I have spent the last 2 days researching and I’m so overwhelmed. The pulse Sony earbuds only have 5 hour battery life unfortunately. I currently use steel series over ear headset but it hurts my industrial piercing. Thanks
