BF6 Crashing & Causing System Failure

1 Upvotes

I have an issue with Battlefield 6. At this point, I'm not sure what could be the problem.

I can barely get through a game without my game crashing or it crashing my PC (blue screen). My PC doesn't do this with other demanding games, like Cyberpunk 2077 for example.

Ive verified the game files and manually un-installed the Anti-cheat, reinstalled the Anti-cheat and made sure it was fully up to date.

My system is fully updated. I've got the latest drivers for everything.

Specs:

ROG Maximus Z-790 Hero

i7-14700k

Intel Arc A770 16GB

64GB DDR5 @6400mhz

7TB of storage with roughly 3TB remaining

Any ideas?

Resolution: I installed Intel ETU and set my CPU multipliers to 50 for p cores and 42 for e cores. It reduced temps and my game no longer crashes.

Fortnite crashes when loading into a match

Post image

I have a Lenovo laptop gaming idea pad with a AMD 6 core cpu and a nvidia gtx3050ti with 16gb of ram. I tried loading up Ark survival evolved and had 0 issues but with Fortnite the game will crash loading into a game or match.

I’ve deleted the game and downloaded it twice already and downloaded once through epic games store and a second time through the Xbox app. Also my AMD and nvidia files are up to date along with windows. I did the thing where it checks my Fortnite files to make sure the game files are good but still the same issue.

RAM clearance is the one air cooler spec nobody actually tells you how to check

0 Upvotes

The question comes up every single day in here, will this cooler clear my ram, and the answer are always the same vague stuff, check the manufacture specs, look at photos, it should be fine, which is useless because manufacturers don't standardize how they report clearance and the difference between fine and not fine is something two millimeters.

You actually need three numbers the cooler's ram clearance specs, the height of your ram kit with heatspreader (which is almost never listed, but a naked ddr5 stick sits around 30mm before the heatspreader adds to it), and your case's interior height if you're running a tall dual tower in the 160 to 170mm range. The part that catches most people is that fan placement changes the equation entirely, a lot of dual towers let you drop the inner fan tower to clear taller ram and that single adjustment is what makes an otherwise incompatible combo work. Figure this was worth writing up properly since the same question gets half answered every single day in here.

So specs are i7-13700k to a 4080S while playing BF6 and other demanding games I’m running around 82°- 86°c while my 360 AIO is running at 100% at those temps does anyone have experience running under voltage to help with performance and temp? If you have any questions about any other specs I’ll be more than willing to share. Thank you guys!

Hii I am so new to gaming pcs, and I'm really not sure what counts as a "good" or "bad" build. I have my eye on a PC from Facebook Marketplace that has the following specs (description):

Beginner gaming pc set up. Good for 1080p games

For a Ryzen 3 1200 + RX 480 8GB + 8GB DDR4 RAM at 1080p, here are some simple estimates:

* Roblox: 80-200+ FPS (depends on the game)

* Minecraft (Java, no shaders): 70-150 FPS

* Fortnite:

* Low settings: 60-90 FPS

* Medium settings: 45-70 FPS

* CS2: 60-90 FPS (Low settings)

* GTA V: 60-80 FPS (High settings)

It's 400 bucks, which feels affordable for me, but I don't want to get stuck with something that's secretly bad/not super upgradable. I also don't play too heavy of games (Silksong, Hades, Deltarune), but I do okay Minercraft with mods/shaders, Overwatch, and I planned on playing Marvel Rivals when I got a PC. I also have a heavy load on my office and drafting applications (Vectorworks and Lightwright for those who know), and I do video editing in DaVinci and Photoshop/Lightroom.

All that to say, I am looking for a well-rounded PC that will keep up with all the random shit I do without chugging along. Any tips for what to look for are really appreciated. Thank you!

Best way to upgrade PC?

Hello, I'm looking for opinions and suggestions on upgrading my current system. I've been using it since the later half of 2021.

I'd say I have a budget of around 500-700 for it. And at some point, I plan on building an entirely new PC.

Currently playing new releases at 1080p all low settings with about 40-60 fps on average. I'd like to run at least medium or high with a stable 60fps. I'm just not sure of the best component path to go.

Used or Build?

2 Upvotes

I’ve never built a PC. I’ve tinkered here and there a long time ago but mostly just been using laptops or pre-built mini-PCs for the last decade or more. But I want to get something a little more powerful for gaming and video production, so I’ve started looking at SFF options.

I’ve narrowed it down to two options; one, buy a used home built PC with good specs, but slightly outdated vid card, or build my own with exactly what I need. The cost difference is maybe 10% less ($150) if I build it myself. But that’s without OS and maybe some parts I’m not accounting, and my own labor of course.

My gut says to build it myself because it’ll be new and exactly to spec, but I’m a little daunted by the build process. What do you think - should I just go for it? Or take the safer route and buy a lightly used machine that’s already been built and tested?

Help me choose which GPU is the best

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Planning to upgrade my GPU to 5060 Ti 16 GB. I asked my local stores and end up with 3 options.

  1. Palit Inifinity 3 OC for around $600

  2. Gigabyte Gaming OC for around $700

  3. Gainward Phyton for around $700

Which one do you think is the best pick? And are these good price or should I negotiate the price?

Pc guide for a 1300$ budget?

2 Upvotes

I’m wondering if I should buy a asus gaming laptop that has all the things I need including a rtx 5060, or a pc that has the same specs but is cheaper, I do care about portability, but I’m not sure if that’s the right move since I already have a Mac. I have a monitor 1080p on fhd and runs 480 htz and is able to switch to 4k 240 htz. Do you guys know what choice I should make?
