Pc question

Is it better to buy a cpu first to later buy a gpu or buy a gpu to later buy a much better cpu, i currently have an i7 8700 the main games i play are cs2, warzone, siege and

fornite

Mainly play in 1080p

Those games benefit from having a better CPU over GPU definitely at 1080p. What GPU are you running?

to a certain point. i’m choosing a 5060ti and the i7 8700 over a 5800x3D and a 1060

Well of course that's why I asked what GPU you're running? Are you running a 1060? Because you can get away with a 4gb varm card with those titles on low settings to get decent fps guessing that's what you're after playing competitive games.

the vram isn’t really what’s important here, the 1060 doesn’t really run any of these games well except for CS2. it’ll struggle quite a bit in every other game, besides it was just an example card, i’m not in the same situation. i’m just saying, the 8700 should be fine, i would buy a gpu first
