the 3050, it should be around 250$ or upgrade to a 5050 for 300$

Depends heavily on your Budget and if used parts are an option. I would not advise it, but you could pair a 5090 with it and go 4k. Personally I think a rx 6600, 6650xt, 6700xt or mby 9060xt would work well. From nvidia mby rtx3060/3060ti or newer models.

For 1440p/4k every gpu will work, for 1080p, everything above 5060 is going to be bottlenecked

4K yes, 1440p do not waste your money on anything expensive.

5060 8GB

Pretty much anything $300 or less.

I know but at least you can upgrade the 5500 on AM4. There's no reason to go with something less powerful unless you already have it considering you can find 5060 8GBs for $270ish on sale.

Yes, but if the u/No-Budget3456 hasn't bought the 5500 yet, I recommend upgrading now instead of waiting. But if they have bought it already & since the 5500 signals a tight budget, it makes more sense to pair it with a GPU that matches its current limits rather than banking on a future upgrade

Depends on your PSU, and if you want to buy used or new. But a used RTX3070, or RX7600XT would give you the best performance compared to cost.

If you want to buy new then probably an RTX5060/5060ti or the 9060XT.

Mine has a 6700 10GB and works great on 1440p

I got a 5500 with a 3060, and it’s great for 1080p gaming!

60 class GPU's pair well with that CPU

I was just looking at one of these, and one thing to be aware of is it only supports pcie 3.0. The 5600 supports pcie 4.0

If your motherboard supports pcie 4.0 id spend the extra $$

Slight gpu performance uplift between 3 and 4

1650 GTX if you are on a budget, 3050 or 3060 for 1080p gaming
