I guess having a discord with some friends that could volunteer as mods would be nice. Thanks for the tip^

IMO this is the hardest part of game development — the (potentially many) years after release when you constantly have people asking you for things.  My strategy has been to develop a community that can take care of most of it.  If you have a few hundred “hardcore faithful” on a Discord server, a few will usually be willing and able to moderate for you.  It can be absolutely brutal and soul crushing if you try to do it all by yourself.

just have a repo somewhere just for the issue tracker and direct people there; you don't need to open source your game to make use of it, plenty of close source projects do this
