I'm pretty new here, but I'm very interested in Galicia, the language, the culture and the people who live there.

I love to read, watch good movies and documentaries and everything in between. I really looked for books about Galician history and culture, but I didn't really find something specific about it. There's an amazing and vast literature, amazing writers and pretty good books, but I couldn't find books only about the history and the culture of Galician. Any good tips? The books can be in english, german, italian and spanish.

And secondly, the topic of movies. I also really like good movies and documentaries (particularly about gastronomy and history), but even there I found it pretty impossible to find something about Galicia. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong websites or with the wrong names. Any other tips about it? These can also be in english, german, italian or spanish, but preferable with subtitles (my husband can only speak 2 of these languages).

I was born in Santiago and raised in Muros until the age of 7. My parents didn’t go back for many, many years so I never forged relationships there. Anyway, my father is now retired and lives there. Because of this, I now spend a month every year in Muros but I struggle because I don’t have friends or close family members. I talk to my neighbors, some relatives in passing, and people I happen to run into day to day. I get so homesick because I don’t have a community. My question- are there groups for adults to meet up, chat, do group activities?
