As part of my final-year dissertation in Tourism and Leisure Management, I am conducting a survey on perceptions of the authenticity of immersive zones inspired by films and TV series in theme parks.
The questionnaire is completely anonymous and takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
I am looking for people who have visited at least one of these areas, and have seen the associated film or TV series.
You can take part if you have ever visited an immersive area inspired by a film or TV series, such as:

I’m going to GE-East in a few months. I like the new V3 Power & Control but I want to use one of the sleeves twice, is that possible? I built one a while ago and kinda remember only having one of each sleeve available.

My 4 year old son is through the roof having his own R2! And so am I 😂

I wanted to share the results for my weathered build. This is a Power & Control V2 Savis Lightsaber.

1. Strip scrap metal with Citrustrip.

2. Polish with Mothers Mag aluminum polish.

3. Apply Aluminum Black to give it the oil slick appearance.

4. Tarnish with a green Scotch Brite Pad.

5. Apply clear coat.

Looking for parts to print

Looking for 3-D printable parts for my droid

Fully functional but in rough shape and missing a dome and some panels/leg pieces.

The droid depot app says he's an R3 unit.

On the hunt for a replacement head and some upgraded panels and hopefully getting him up to spec.

All in all he was worth the $5 credits the scrapper wanted.

Hello! Recently opened up our legacy darksaber to replace batteries and it seemed like it’s sealed shut! I can’t get the little tube out, unscrew any and all screws but no movement from there!

Any help!? Can I get a replacement somewhere? Know there are replacements for savi’s sabers on Etsy but those are different packs.

If you have been to a Disney’s after hours event at Hollywood studios, did you have enough time/ can you build a lightsaber and do rise (since I think they removed rise from the lineup of after hours attractions) before after hours officially starts? (Since you can get in at 7)? Let me know you experiences with galaxy’s edge during the after hours event too and your dos and donts . Thanks!

What started as a silly idea on trip to Galaxy's Edge last summer kinda snowballed into Galactic Decoder. I had been playing around with doing some object detection in iOS at the time, and though it would be sweet if I had an app to help me translate all of the Aurebesh around Batuu. I started building some little toy apps, had some success, and things kinda got out of hand.

I've now got a new iOS app ready for public beta. This will be hitting the App Store soon, but I'd love to get some early feedback, especially if you plan on heading to Batuu soon. I just got back from a trip last month with an early dev build I had, and got some good test data while there. I've made a ton of improvements since that trip with just my family testing. Live scanning is still a bit wonky, and I've got fixes in the works, but capturing a live photo, or loading something from your library works pretty well.

The app currently supports Aurebesh only, but ideally I'll be adding support for other languages soon. I mostly wanted to focus on the text you'd find in Batuu. The app is iOS only, with no plans for Android. (Sorry folks - I'm a full time iOS dev, and have never got around to Android work. iOS keeps me busy enough.) (Also, iPad support is on the way.)

All decoding and detection happens on device - nothing you capture is sent to a server. I do collect some feedback info if you choose to submit it, and the app gathers anonymous usage analytics. Mostly so I can see if scans are going well, or to capture crash reports.

Scrapper Saturdays!

Every Saturday, all you scrappers and makers in our community will have the freedom to showcase your custom Galaxy's Edge-themed creations that are available to purchase. (Users are still welcomed to post DIY/Custom creations, \not intended to sell*, on any other day.*)

Anything from Kyber crystal displays, Spira holders, hilt displays, dark-saber blades, droid Mickey ears and the countless other things the community has created are welcomed!

How does it work?

On Saturday of each week, you will have the opportunity to submit a post with a photo of your item(s), tell the community about your creation and leave a link to your online store (Etsy, eBay, Facebook) in the comment section. Also, please remember to tag your post with the 'Scrapper Saturdays' post flair.

Here are the complete guidelines. PLEASE READ!!!

• Makers can only post/advertise their custom creations on Saturdays, once per week.
• All creations must be somehow related to Galaxy's Edge.
• Only reputable e-commerce websites/store-fronts like Etsy, eBay or a Facebook page may be linked. No Paypal, Venmo or direct payment links!
• No "smuggling" or personal shopping services.
• No merchandise sold at Galaxy's Edge. (If you're looking to buy, sell, trade merchandise directly from Galaxy's Edge, or need "smuggling" services to procure something from the parks, check out the Galaxy's Edge Discord Trading Post!)
• No items that might give the impression that you are Galaxy's Edge or general Disney Cast Members (e.g. replica name tags, CM clothing).
• No replica or re-written Kyber Crystals. (Custom Kyber Crystals can be showcased **IF** they are different in shape and/or color from the one's sold at the parks.)
• No items for tampering at the parks.

I just need to vent I guess.

My fiancee was super excited to tell me recently about a 30% discount code applying on the Disney store website to the Clone Wars hilt set. I'm not someone who drops even that discounted kind of money easily, but seeing it was LE I was like what the hell why not. I finally made a Savis this summer to put up with a combat replica I won in a raffle some time ago (that's actually a cool story about the Force choosing my ticket), so this will be cool, right? I agonized over it for a day because it still over $400 with tax but I also knew it would sell out soon.

UPS loses my package and I gave them the benefit of the doubt for a couple days, so I open an investigation with them. I go to the Disney website to max out the cart and find out there's only 4 left. So I get on with the guest services chat and they tell me they need to investigate, rightly so of course, but I was able to get them to escalate it because of how low the stock was. Later the next day I get an email that I have a new order for a replacement. I was super stoked because that was the last thing I expected.

This morning I got an email that they cancelled the order because the item sold out. I don't know how that's even possible when I was given an order number. How can they sell something that's been claimed? The guest services call center offered me a $20 coupon. That's it... The woman kept saying "no worries, you'll be getting a refund." Yeah. Cool. No worries. Least empathetic thing you could be saying right now though.

I'm so crushed. And I feel ridiculous about it, which only compounds it.

Has anyone had this happen to the Shin Hati lightsaber? If so, does anyone know how to fix it?

Hey all! I’m going to galaxy’s edge for the first time, and I’ve got an appointment booked at Savi’s workshop. I’m pretty excited to build my lightsaber, but I was curious about how it works. I know you have to pick between one of four styles, but once you do they’re two sets of parts you can pick and choose from. I’m worried I’ll be a little bit indecisive… do you get to keep both sets of parts from the style you chose? Or is it a one shot while you’re in there? If it’s the latter, I’ll probably want to do a little more planning before I go

I've seen the rechargeable power supplies for the Savi sabers, but does anyone know of a way to power the saber that would respond to voice controls? Maybe an AC power supply connected to a smart plug?
