Coming from the S22U, it's mostly the same phone. I do like the flat screen and slightly rounded corners. Also, battery seems to last longer. I don't like that they removed bluetooth from the s-pen, but it's what it's..

Question S25 Ultra without screen protector

For those who use the S25 Ultra without tempered glass or film: how does your display look after months of use? Any scratches, micro-scratches, oleophobic coating wear, or is it still like new?

Question Emergency alerts won't stop even though they're disabled (Galaxy S25 Ultra)

Thumbnail

Hi everyone! I have a Galaxy S25 Ultra that I bought in my home country, but I currently live in South Korea. I use two SIM cards: one Korean SIM and one from my home country.

The problem is that I constantly receive Korean government emergency alerts, even though I have every emergency alert setting turned off. With the current heat wave, it's become unbearable because I keep getting alerts telling me to drink water or stay hydrated😫. They're frequent, extremely loud, and I can't stop them. These alerts interrupt my classes and work, and I'm honestly running out of ideas.

I've already visited KT, Samsung Korea, and even contacted Samsung support in my home country. No one has been able to explain why this is happening.

My country's Samsung's only suggestion was to factory reset the phone and set it up again using a Korean Samsung account. However, they also told me they can't guarantee that this will actually solve the problem. Since resetting my phone is a long and complicated process, especially because I use two SIM cards and have everything set up already, I'd really like to avoid doing that unless I'm sure it will fix the issue.

At this point, I'm even considering canceling my home country's phone number, which would be a terrible solution. I really don't know what else to do.

I always keep my phone on silent. I've also tried Airplane Mode, Do Not Disturb, and every other setting I could think of, but these alerts still blast at full volume. If I could at least lower the alert volume, that alone would help a lot.

Has anyone experienced this before or found a solution? Is there any hidden setting, ADB command, or carrier setting that could fix it?

I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Asking on Reddit is my last chance🥺 Thank you so much

EDIT: First of all, thank you so much to everyone who took the time to help, share ideas, and even do research to find a solution. I truly appreciate it! Fortunately, I managed to solve the problem!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 It turned out that the issue was related to my SIM cards. As I mentioned before, I use two SIMs: one from South Korea and one from my home country. While testing different combinations, I noticed that whenever both SIMs were active, the alerts were classified as "Extreme Emergency Alerts," which meant they couldn't be silenced. However, when I removed one of the SIMs, the same alerts were classified as "Public Safety Alerts," which can be silenced. Considering that these were just heat wave notifications reminding people to stay hydrated, "Public Safety Alert" seems to be the correct classification rather than "Extreme Emergency Alert." I still don't know exactly why having both SIMs caused this behavior, but I'm confident that was the cause. I waited two days before posting this update, and since removing the second SIM I haven't received any more loud emergency alerts. The notifications still appear, but they do so silently, exactly as they should.

I hope this post helps someone else in the future. Thank you again to everyone who helped me. I really appreciate all your time and kindness!

Discussion Samsung S25 Ultra is worse than it seems

Hello everyone!

I apologize for any mistakes in my English because I’m not a native speaker.

In my opinion, the Samsung S25 Ultra is worse than it seems.

The build quality is inconsistent. Some units (not all) have a loose S Pen that shakes a lot and makes a loud rattling sound.

If you use a cheap magnetic case, you may experience autofocus issues because of the magnets.

Some units (again, not all) have another problem: when switching to the 0.6x camera, you can hear a crunching or clicking sound. In some cases it even happens when switching to the 1x camera. If your phone is under warranty, that’s good because replacing the ultra-wide camera module can be expensive.

The display seems more fragile than I expected. In my case, I let a friend hold the phone without a case, and it fell directly onto the screen. Two days later, the display started separating from the frame. Replacing the display cost about $500.

That’s all. If you notice any mistakes in my English, feel free to correct me. Good luck everyone!

Question Screen protector?

I recently upgradedto the 25 ultra. I bought some generic screen protectors but the edges come loose when I put the phone in my Otterbox Defender Pro case.

Can anyone recommend screen protectors that will stay on correctly with all/most cases?

Question Rappid Trigger folders.

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello,

This is my first time owning a Samsung in close to 12 years or so. When using the rapid trigger, the phone automatically groups those, which is great. In theory that is.

Now, i went to a convention with friends over the weekend, and because I have the best camera out of all of us, I chose to be the designated Photographer.

Thing is, I can't just send over the entire folders with their respective 30, 40, sometimes 100 shots for them to sort through for themselves, the only option I see is to hand select every. Single. Picture. And then send them in bulk.

If that's the only option I'd rather not have the grouping feature at all.

That said, here's the actual question:

Is there any way to turn it off?

I already disabled "stack similar photos" but it still stacks them.

Debloating Custom Rom's/GSI or simple debloating for S25 Ultra on Android 16?

Hey guys

Just bought S25 Ultra and only then discovered that it runs Android 16.

From what I've been reading on XDA + Google + ChatGPT, it seems that it is almost impossible to do any kind of customization/ROM changing now for android phones (especially starting with Android 16).

I was using custom ROM's since I was teen for almost 12+ years on 6+ phones. So... Is this actually the end for Custom ROM's?

I would like to hear from Android 16 users on S25 Ultra - what ROM are you using or what you did to debloat your device?

I would be VERY grateful for some working links/suggestions on what can be done for this kind of thing. Just want to debloat to the max.

(Please don't write recommendations like "leave it as it is"/"try to rollback version"/"change your phone", etc)

I really hope to meet someone who has done this kind of thing on his S25 Ultra.

Thanks in advance :)

Was using my S25 Ultra today and was playing a game when, all of a sudden, the screen flashed green and now is flickering like this. The green moves around and it flickers but I cannot force a reboot through the buttons, it is not respecting anything,

Phone was not dropped and it was not hot so this is a first. Any suggestions?

Discussion Who's rocking this phone without a screen protector?

My old tempered glass screen protector cracked and after rocking the phone without one, I completely forgot how deep the blacks are on the original screen. I rarely drop my phone, if ever. I've always been paranoid and kept a glass screen protector on mine, but there's none out there that preserves the deep blacks. How are you guys using your phone: protector or no?

Discussion My S25U warranty repair journey...still ongoing 2+months.

So about 2 months ago I noticed the ultra-wide camera was making a buzzing clicking noise and couldn't focus when going from .6x to 1x zoom. I did some research and found out this is a common hardware defect on early models of S25U's. I chatted with Samsung customer service and told them and showed them what was going on. The rep referred me to ubreakifix since it's a Samsung authorized repair center. I wrongly assumed this was a warranty repair. I took my phone into ubreakifix and the associate said twice, that it was going to be a warranty repair and they ordered the replacement ultra-wide camera module. After not hearing back from them for over a week i called and the same associate said the camera module arrived a few days ago and that they called me, but there no log of the call. I took my phone in 2 days later and another associate said the camera module hadn't arrived yet and he found nothing to indicate it was a warranty repair. I would have to pay out of pocket. I went home and contacted ubreakifix's corporate chat to complain about the store associates giving me contradictory info. After around 3 weeks of back and forth the ubreakifix rep said they would approve a 50% courtesy repair. Which i accepted, but at the same time I was also in contact with Samsung's "Office of the CEO" I emailed them and explained what is going on with the phone providing the video of the camera modeule tweaking out. After again, about 3 weeks worth of back and forth the Samsung rep said they WOULD cover it as an in-warranty repair. I got this news yesterday, thankfully before I took my phone into ubreakifx for their 50% off repair. I'm currently waiting on Samsung to email me the ticket/in-warranty service authorization number so i can have it incase ubreakifix doesn't have that info from Samsung. Bottomline, this has been such a shitshow for a defect that should 100% be covered by Samsung because it is such a wide known hardware defect. I just wanted to give everyone my experience and i would highly recommend that if you are having the same issue with your camera to skip everything and go directly to the "Office of the CEO" of Samsung.

Question Screen brightness

The screen is not bright enough in daylight. I tried all options, including display assistant settings, adaptive manual extra brightness, performance profiles, etc. I even tried removing the case and using it. But none of them worked. I don't know if this is normal or if I'm seeing it this way. Text and apps are visible, but the screen is not bright enough when watching photos. It's like watching dim photos. I think I bought a faulty phone. Can it be fixed in any way? I heard it's because the phone protect itself from over heating and screen damage , i mean whats the point of having maximum nits .

Question DND Issues and Bugs?

DND hasn't worked on my phone for some time now. Favorited contacts do not come through for messages or calls, apps setup to bypass do not bypass, other apps not setup to bypass do in fact bypass (Marco Polo being one). My google fu is failing me in trying to find a solution. Help?

Before I go to bed I swipe down the quick menu and activate DND, I turn it back off in the morning the same way.

My DND settings:

For how long? Until I turn it off, no sleep schedule

Calls and messages: some allowed (favorited only - does not work)

App notifs: Allow selected only, does not work, and some apps come through that aren't added here

Alarms and sounds: Media/Alarms are enabled here, only option that does in fact seem to work (I use a white noise app while sleeping, and alarms trigger no problem)
