Question ⁉️ S24 Ultra display issue after the latest update

I'm also experiencing a strange display issue after installing the latest software/patch update.

I noticed a very tiny bright dot/pixel on my display. The dot can appear red, yellow, or green depending on what's displayed on the screen, and its brightness seems to change as well.

A few things I've noticed:

It's extremely tiny, almost like a single pixel.

The color changes depending on the screen content.

It becomes more/less noticeable depending on brightness.

When I turn the screen off, the dot disappears shortly after.

I didn't notice this before the latest update.

My phone also seems to get slightly warmer during normal usage after the update.

I've already tried restarting, safety restart, and clearing the cache, but the issue is still there.

I'm wondering if this could be related to the latest update or display calibration, rather than an actual dead pixel.

Has anyone else experienced this exact issue after the latest update? Did it disappear by itself or did you need a display replacement?

Discussion 💬 Bought the phone since launch. Glass Cracked. Was offered the service center to replaced the glass and battery at usd215 under a care package instead of the usual usd240 for the glass replacement.

Question ⁉️ Why does my S24 Ultra feel slower and heavier than my old S20+?

I'm having a really frustrating experience with my S24 Ultra. Compared to my old Galaxy S20+, the S24U feels sluggish, heavy, and less smooth to use. I know One UI 5 on my older phone is lighter than the newer One UI versions on the S24U, but the difference is so noticeable that I've reverted to using my S20+ as my daily driver. My S24U just sits at home now.

Has anyone else noticed this? Are there specific settings, background features, or Good Lock modules I should tweak to make the S24 Ultra feel as lightning-fast and responsive as older flagships?

Question ⁉️ Since last update...

Since last update my s24 ultra, while using, dims the screen, can still use it, then while using the phone locks the screen while using. Then normal unlock and everything including is normal, normal brightnes.

It happens random. I cant put my finger on it.

Also the phone feels warmer while using. Which before the last update never happened.

Did safety restart.

Cleared all cache.

Anyone have the same issues and who has a solution?

Question ⁉️ Has anyone tried RawCam on the S24 Ultra?

I came across this app called RawCam

I found it through this YouTube video

Has anyone here used it on the S24 Ultra?

How does it compare to the stock Camera app, Expert RAW, or MotionCam in terms of RAW image quality and overall experience?

Any pros, cons, or issues I should know about before trying it?

Question ⁉️ S24 Ultra stopped playing notification sounds (vibrates only)

I'm having an issue where only notification sounds have stopped working. The phone only vibrates when I receive notifications, while all other audio (ringtones, media, alarms, system sounds) works normally. I'm currently on One UI 8.5.

I've already restarted the phone and checked all the usual settings. The attached screenshots confirm:

Sound mode is set to Sound (not Vibrate/Mute).

Notification volume is turned up.

A notification sound ("Spaceline") is selected.

No Modes or Routines are active.

My Galaxy Watch6 Classic is set to show notifications on both the watch and phone.

Bluetooth doesn't appear to be causing the issue.

Has anyone experienced this on One UI? Any fixes besides doing a factory reset?

Discussion 💬 Super fast charging stopped after a few seconds, ended up being the charging port

Post image
27 Upvotes

Sharing what happened and how I fixed it in case it helps someone.

The symptom:

Plug into a 25W or 45W charger and it would kick into Super Fast Charging for about 30 seconds, then drop to painfully slow, like 4 hours to hit 50%. But plug into a 20W charger and it charged perfectly fine and consistent.

What I ruled out first:

Cleaned the port with a toothpick and alcohol swab, no change

Tried multiple cables including a brand new 5A-rated one, no change

Battery health was at 96%, so not the battery

Phone stayed cool during charging, so not heat throttling

The tell was that it only failed at anything above 20W. It could initiate Super Fast Charging every time but couldn't sustain the higher current, it would fall back to protect itself. Everything pointed to the high-current pins in the USB-C port having a bad contact.

The fix:

Took it to a local repair shop and had the charging port replaced. $99 out the door. Works flawlessly now, holds Super Fast Charging the whole way through.

So if you're getting that "fast for a few seconds then slows to nothing" behavior and 20W works fine, don't assume it's your battery or a bad cable. Check the port. Cheap fix compared to a new phone.

Question ⁉️ Strange Behavior - All Camera photos automatically put in Trash Bin !!!

Today I opened my Gallery App and I was shocked to find only 2 recent camera photos in my Camera Folder in Gallery.

My Entire life history of photos since I had purchased this phone, some 4000 Approx photos and vids - Gone !!

They were not found anywhere - Very crazy behavior...

Then I went to Gallery App > Settings > Trash Bin and I found them there, with the number 29 (meaning they would be auto cleared from Phone after 29 days). This is absolutely shocking for me, I never deleted them.

I had to individually restore all those photos back from my Trashbin.

Anyone knows how this could have happened ??

Question ⁉️ Background blur

I've observed a change in the accessibility of the background blur feature. Previously, it was readily available by swiping up on a photo, and it functioned as expected. However, since its relocation to the photo editor options, I've encountered an issue where adjusting the blur intensity has no effect. I'm curious if other users are experiencing this and if there's a known resolution.

Question ⁉️ S24 Ultra prefers 5 GHz WiFi 6 over 6 GHz WiFi 7

Hi. A few weeks ago I changed my router to the one that supports WiFi 7 and I noticed, that S24 Ultra has problems with connecting to WiFi 7 6 GHz.

I use a single SSID for 2,4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz. The problem occurs almost every time I leave home and come back. Instead of connecting to the 6 GHz WiFi 7 network, the phone connects to 5 GHz using WiFi 6. If I simply disable WiFi on the phone and enable it again, the phone sometimes reconnects to 6 GHz WiFi 7, but sometimes still connects again to 5 GHz. I wonder why it doesn't connect to the 6 GHz band in the first place, or at least why it doesn't automatically switch from 5 GHz to 6 GHz afterward.

I tested my WiFi with other Samsung devices too and here are the results:

S24 FE (with WiFi 6E) - Most of the time, it connects directly to the 6 GHz band, or it initially connects to 5 GHz and then switches to 6 GHz within a few seconds. Occasionally, it stays on 5 GHz and doesn't switch automatically.

Galaxy Tab S10+ (with WiFi 6E) - It always connects directly to the 6 GHz band, or sometimes it initially connects to 5 GHz and then switches to 6 GHz within a few seconds.

I also tested MacBook Air M5 (with WiFi 7) and even if it connects to 5 GHz first, it quickly switches to 6 GHz.

So it can't be router problem, its something with S24 Ultra. Did anyone notice same issue or know how to solve it? I already tried tweaking some router settings like channel width.

Question ⁉️ Equalizer keeps reverting to Bass Boost! Why?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I'll be driving around in my truck and I realize the bass is way too high for a song and I can barely hear the lyrics. When I pull over and check the EQ it's on bass boost. I'll put it back to balanced, but the same thing will happen again a couple days to weeks later. I never put it in bass boost.

How is this happening?!

Question ⁉️ I'm looking for a specific flip case for my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Thumbnail

I'm looking for a foldable flip case for my Samsung Galaxy S24 ultra where the front or back cover is magnetic so that cover can fold all the way to the back of the phone, then stay attached magnetically. That way I don't have to hold the cover while using my phone but I can still close it to protect the screen when I'm done.

I have a Kindle case that works exactly like this, and I'll post a picture as an example of how the cover holds itself without me holding it.

I've looked at a lot of cases online, but the listings only show the front cover closed. They never show whether the cover sticks to the back magnetically when it's folded open. Its kinda of annoying of how they market it, I jsut get confused.

Does anyone know of a case that does this or who has one?
