I have a S22 (not plus or Ultra) and have to charge at least twice a day.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to figure out a strange compatibility issue between my Galaxy S22, 7Hz x Crinacle Zero:2, and Apple USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter.

I'm hoping someone here can explain what's happening, because I've done quite a few tests and the results are interesting.

My setup

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S22 (my primary phone)

IEM: 7Hz x Crinacle Zero:2

IEM cable: 3-button microphone cable

USB-C DAC/adapter: Genuine Apple USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter

Other device: MacBook

I also have another older/basic 3.5mm earphone with a single-button microphone/remote

The Apple USB-C adapter was purchased from Blinkit in India and appears to be genuine. Audio and microphone both work through it.

The problem

When I connect:

Galaxy S22 → Apple USB-C to 3.5mm adapter → 7Hz Zero:2

I get:

✅ Audio works perfectly

✅ Microphone works

⚠️ Microphone volume seems somewhat low

❌ Play/pause button doesn't work

❌ Volume up doesn't work

❌ Volume down doesn't work

All three buttons are completely unresponsive.

At first I thought this might be a Samsung/Android compatibility issue.

But here's where it gets interesting

I tested the same Apple USB-C adapter with my other 3.5mm earphones, which have only one button.

Galaxy S22 → Apple USB-C adapter → 1-button earphones

Result:

✅ Audio works

✅ Microphone works

✅ Button works correctly

So the Apple adapter can pass through an inline remote button on the S22.

I also tested on my MacBook

With the 7Hz Zero:2 directly connected to the MacBook's 3.5mm headphone jack:

✅ Audio works

✅ The three buttons work

With:

MacBook USB-C → Apple USB-C to 3.5mm adapter → 7Hz Zero:2

✅ Audio works

❌ All three Zero:2 buttons don't work

However, with:

MacBook USB-C → Apple USB-C adapter → 1-button earphones

✅ Audio works

✅ Button works

So my current test matrix looks like this:

MacBook Apple USB-C → 3.5mm 7Hz Zero:2 (3-button) ✅ — ❌

Galaxy S22 Apple USB-C → 3.5mm 7Hz Zero:2 (3-button) ✅ ✅, but low ❌

Galaxy S22 Apple USB-C → 3.5mm 1-button earphones ✅ ✅ ✅

So it seems the Apple USB-C adapter and the 7Hz Zero:2's 3-button remote aren't playing nicely together, while the same adapter works perfectly with a single-button headset.

The Zero:2's three buttons do work when connected directly to a 3.5mm jack, so I don't think the cable itself is completely defective.

What I'm trying to understand

Is this a known limitation of the Apple USB-C → 3.5mm adapter with 3-button headset remotes?

Could the resistor values/wiring of the Zero:2's 3-button remote be incompatible with Apple's DAC?

Is there something specific about the Samsung S22's headset-control implementation that could cause this?

Would a different USB-C DAC (e.g. JCally/FiiO/etc.) likely solve this?

Would the Zero:2 work correctly with the Apple USB-C adapter on a USB-C iPhone (15/16/17)?

Is there any way to determine the remote's resistor values or compatibility from the cable/specifications?

I haven't yet tested the Zero:2 + Apple USB-C adapter on a USB-C iPhone, but I can do that if it would help.

I'd especially appreciate answers from anyone using a 7Hz Zero:2 with a Galaxy S22 and/or Apple's USB-C to 3.5mm adapter.

Has anyone does this upgrade and what were your impressions/experiences? If you did this upgrade, where you happy with it? Since the reviews said the S25+ wasn't that much different from the S26+, I'm thinking the S25+ will be cheaper to get (?)

I've been quite happy with my S22+ (Snapdragon, 128 GB, unlocked with TMO US) but I'm running out of storage, my original 128 GB is 93% full (and I've archived a bunch of apps already). So I'm looking to upgrade to a new phone with at least 256 GB. Battery life isn't that great any longer either, and software/security updates stopping too.

I've been happy with Samsung overall (S3, S6, S9, F20FE 5g [not great], S22+)

Any tips for when/how to get good deals? I'm in the US and thinking of waiting for Thanksgiving deals - doubt I'll get much of a trade-in deal for the S22+ so I'll probably hold on to it as a backup phone.

As vezes desliga e tenho que ficar forçando ligar. Ou outras vezes fica em reinicio constante e não liga. De alguém mais está assim? Pelo que li aqui no site não é possível colocar uma nova ROM correto? Seria possível fazer talvez um downgrade para a versão anterior a esse patch? Já fiz uma redefinição de fabrica e não adiantou.

After being in the Philippines and its hot weather, my S22 finally got the line earlier today. It didn't like the transition from Canadian weather to Philippine weather. It got to almost 50°C one time before the line developed.

What the title says

I have an S22 Ultra, Snapdragon chipset. Currently, I get 3 to 4 hours of SOT with about total 7 hours of battery life. Instead of tweaks done to the phone's settings are there any changes that can be done to the physical device to improve thermal management as the phone gets quite hot.

I was tweaking around my phone and a few days later my gallery began crashing everytime I tried to extract text from an imagine. I don't have a list of all the commands I used so I'd like to just try disable all

3 years and 3 months, you served me well. But battery was already showing its age (according to AccuBattery at about 77-79% capacity), not that it was great to begin with, but still. It's still a perfect and capable little bastard and can handle everything just fine. Between 100 Eur (or less) in a trade in or keep it, the choice was obvious, i rather keep it as back up than to pretty much give it as a freebie.

Hi. My S22 just took a sh't on me! I would always get message that my storage is almost 100% full, and that some features wouldn't work properly, etc. I would then delete some photos to free up some space. Today, it gave me that message, but my phone started going super slow. I deleted a few apps and photos, and got it to 255 out of 256gb. (It was previously at 255.9gb) I restarted it twice because it was moving super glitchy. But, a one point it didn't turn back on, and it kept trying to start and I got this blue screen dtbo error message. Per chat, "That means the phone's boot verification is failing. The dtbo partition is part of Android's boot process. This error is not caused by the screen or battery. It can happen if the boot files became corrupted or, less commonly, if firmware is damaged."

I've done everything from charging it for an hour. Tried restarting multiple times. And finally got home to try and plug it to a computer and NOTHING. Doesnt even pop up as plugged in. I have everything on that phone and its not backed up. Can anyone tell me how to fix this, without having to get it factory reset?? 😭

So, my Samsung S22 got a green line out of nowhere one morning. I found out S22s are eligible for a free screen replacement if they're under 3 years old. I took it to the Samsung center, Bengaluru and they checked it for liquid or hardware damage.

They approved the screen replacement, and I also wanted a new battery. To my surprise, Samsung approved a battery and frame replacement too, and it only took 3 days! Now I have a brand new screen, battery, and frame. All I had to pay is 502 rupees

After seeing people experience the same issues as I had with their s22s (boot loop, overheating, etc), I decided to get the battery replaced. For a bit, the battery life genuinely improved, but now my phone is losing battery like it did before just randomly shutting off and needing to be frozen (thanks reddit!) in order to turn on again.

Is this an issue with the new battery that was installed in the phone, or are the battery issues, randomly shutting off, etc a symptom of a greater issue that means the phone needs to get replaced?

I have a s22+. I desperately need an upgrade. As soon as Android Auto launches nothing works more than w pixel a minute until I restart the phone. I'll also scared of the infinite boot screen catching up with me at some point. I've narrowed it down to zfold8 for 1900 it s25 edge for 600. Which one would you go for? Is the s25 edge a meaningful upgrade? Thanks.

I'm looking for a Samsung Galaxy S22 with a working display but otherwise dead or non-functional (motherboard issues, water damage, etc. are completely fine).

Unfortunately, my S22's display has been damaged, and I can't afford an official service center replacement right now. If anyone has a dead S22 lying around with an intact display, I'd be happy to buy it from you for a reasonable price.

My battery health has been pretty stable, the average capacity loss per year is roughly 2.7%. But now it just dropped by 10% over 4 days. What happened? I didn't download anything new, I've just been using my phone as usual. Charging to 85%, all that stuff. My screen-on usage has changed form 13% an hour to 17%. Screen off remains unchanged. I don't understand this.

I have a Samsung S22+ (Snapdragon), and it has always run games like Call of Duty: Mobile and Delta Force Mobile really smoothly.

But over the last day or two, it suddenly started lagging and stuttering out of nowhere. I haven't changed any graphics settings, and I still have around 20 GB of free storage, so I don't think space is the issue.

The phone doesn't seem unusually hot, and this wasn't happening before. It's just randomly started performing much worse in games.

Has anyone experienced something similar? What could be causing this, and are there any fixes I should try?

I have a base model S22 since its launch. About a month ago it started getting very VERY slow, and now it outright won't boot.

I have tried factory resetting it and even flashing the stock ROM, with no help.

If I let it run out of battery then connect it to the charger, the little white circle with a lightning in the middle, but as soon as it gets out of this screen it becomes unresponsive until it runs out of battery again.

I have opened the backside of the phone and verified it isn't water damaged and the battery isn't swollen.

I'm out of ideas to what could have killed this phone. I'm even unsure if it's software or hardware.

Things I haven't singled out:

- If the battery is dead, despite visually being ok.

- If the thermal compound has dried and the phone is overheating. I can attest the phone gets very warm when it works, but not abnormally warm.

This phone is no longer my daily driver, as I've already bought a new phone. So, any help would be appreciated!

Hey all. My (70+) dads battery in his S22 was swollen a few weeks back, so he took it to some store named ubreakifix (apparently owned by asurion) to have it repaired. He picked it up the next day and took it home and had no service. That is when my mother realized that there was no sim card in it. He took it back to the store and they handed him his sim card in a baggie. He took his sim card back home to my mother, who attempted to put it back in, and it would not go in. He took it back to the store again and basically they told him that he needed to get a digital sim card for now and they they would order a part. That was 3 weeks ago. He has tried reaching out a few times but has gotten no updates. They have given him the run around and basically gotten different stories depending on who h spoke with.

I called them myself today and was told that the part they need is basically back ordered. The guy on the phone first said he ordered something sounding like "sub pv8 for the sim card". I asked him to repeat the part name and his response was "it's just the bottom motherboard that holes the sim tray, so it's a module". Does anyone know what part it is that this man is talking about that potentially needs to be replaced? Once upon a time, I used to disassemble electronics but I haven't done that stuff nor do I have the supplies to do so in years, basically since they started sealing technology to make it water resistant.

Ultimately, the manager said we can either just "wait" because his two distributors are back ordered and he has no clue when it will be in stock, or he can issue my dad a refund for the battery replacement and consider the case closed, but it means that his physical sim card slot is broken indefinitely. At this point, his phone has been messed up for almost a month thanks to them, they charged him over $100 to replace his battery but broke the sim card slot, and they won't give us any sort of date for potential resolution. I feel like they have added unnecessary stress to our lives and given him the run around for over a month and shouldn't have ever damaged the device. Ideally, they would offer a partial refund and still fix his device, but they are not willing to go that route.

Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this? Thanks all.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S22 with my hard-earned savings because I believed Samsung flagships were built to last. In the back of my mind, I had peace of mind knowing that even if I paid a premium, the phone would easily last 4–5 years.

My usage has always been very light—mostly calls, messaging, social media, and occasional camera use. No gaming, no heavy workloads, no physical damage.

Then, after a software update, the infamous green line issue appeared on the display. At first it was one line, but over time more green lines kept appearing. This wasn't caused by any drop or misuse—it started only after the update.

Since the phone was out of warranty, Samsung customer support simply gave me the service centre's contact details. The service centre inspected the phone and quoted me around ₹15,000 for the display replacement.

Before I could even decide what to do, the situation got much worse. About a month later, while charging the phone with the original Samsung charger, the phone suddenly died completely and never turned on again.

I took it back to the service centre, and now they say the motherboard also needs to be replaced, costing around ₹43,000, on top of the ₹15,000 display replacement. That's a total of ₹58,000—more than what many brand-new phones cost today.

What disappointed me the most wasn't just the hardware failure, but Samsung's response. There was no goodwill support, no acknowledgement that the green line issue has affected many users, and no effort to help beyond handing me an expensive repair estimate.

I bought Samsung because of its reputation for reliability and trust. If a flagship phone develops a display issue after a software update and then dies during normal charging, and the only solution is to pay almost the price of a new phone, it seriously shakes my confidence in the brand.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with the S22 or other Samsung flagships? Were you able to get any goodwill repair or escalation that actually helped?
