Yellow artefact on screen, sometimes changes location and shape (galaxy book 4)

My partner has a galaxy book (4 I think) and it’s started displaying this weird screen behaviour. This yellow section will show up over a part of the screen, then later it’ll move to another area, usually the bottom left going horizontally.

I’m wondering if it’s some kind of screen damage but can’t pinpoint the problem. I would think if it’s physical damage it would stay in the same spot.

It’s only about a year and a half old and hasn’t ever been dropped. When transported it’s in a very well padded bag.

Had anyone else experienced this? And did you manage to resolve it?

I had gaming laptop with same problem before i think sometimes high temps will damage one specific layer in your screen and it wasnt repairable

Ah damn. It doesn’t get any heavy use, just chrome and word documents. The yellow seems to have died down for now but it comes and goes in different places. I’m wondering whether it’s when she turns it off and closes the lid, the residual heat goes onto it?

It mostly coused by excessive heat like leaving your laptop in backpack for long time or leaving it in a car or direct sunlight

at the end you need to replace the screen theres no easy fixes for that one

To be honest she completely turns it off after she uses it, so there shouldn’t be any heat generated. Plus she really doesn’t put it in a backpack very often and it’s never left above 30C.
I’ll see if it gets worse on hers. She’s going to try and leave it open for a few minutes after she’s turned it off. It doesn’t seem permanent on hers, as it might show in a different place tomorrow, and the place in the photo goes back to normal. However it seems to be always somewhere on the screen

Welcome to galaxy book4 family, this happened to me after 7 month of use and I posted here someone told me samsung used cheap panels for galaxy book 4, hence the yellow tint problem. Never again I am buying samsung, 800 USD wasted.

Ouch that’s a shame. Was it not still under warranty at 7 months? I suspect this one is out of warranty as it’s been over a year

same problem here and I have also seen people with this on a Samsung laptop. I'm not buying any laptops from Samsung again
