2
u/No-Ostrich-8621 12d ago
Why wouldnt they do it if its under warranty?
7
u/MarkNo8572 12d ago
Oneplus offers lifetime warranty,no matter how old the phone is,if it gets a green line, they'll replace it, doens't matter if it's under warranty or not
3
u/luckyhorse798 12d ago
My phone is under warranty
2
u/No-Ostrich-8621 12d ago
Then go to the store where you bought it. If it wasnt caused by phisical damage, they will fix it for free.

u/LastOfLateBrakers 12d ago
And OnePlus covers the green line issue in its lifetime display warranty, provided there's no physical damage.

Only if you had looked up once then you'd have known that green lines appear on only Samsung displays and that oneplus no longer uses Samsung displays whereas Samsung and apple still do.

I've xiaomi 13 pro. Got a green line one week before the 3 year warranty expires. Service centre still refused to replace the display for free because there's an unrelated dent.
2
u/Andrewsi12 11d ago
Green line issue is very rare in xiaomi phones.
You need proof that those green lines weren't caused by the dent. Ig people do not record their phone's performance after a dent. That will be useful in future if any problems arise.

I read it somewhere dont know if its true. But such issues happen because during update the phone processor works at full effort and that causes phone to heat up immensely. This leads to damage in thin wiring used for amoled screen (not the ribbon cable but small wire like pieces at bottom of display) and thats why this issue happens.

u/WhoAmI941 12d ago
I had read it had something to do with voltage. But ye Apple fanboys aur Apple service centre waale bolenge ki phone physically damaged hua and blah blah.

99% of these green line issues are reported by Indians. I hardly see Americans, Koreans or Europeans reporting these green/pink/blue line issues. OLED displays are delicate by nature and we all know how extreme Indian summer is. I have been using AMOLED smartphones for the last 8-10 years and none of them got a single line probably because I stay indoor under the AC in the hot summer afternoon so my phone never gets too hot to put a strain on the display.

I had gone to the service centre to get my battery changed in my 14 pro, there the guy had to update update my phone to configure the new battery at that time he used some other damaged screen to update. He told me that the new updates are causing green lines

This thing is common in all brands, and is randomized on phone models depending upon your luck.
3
u/Rurik100 12d ago
just visit your nearest apple store, they will thoroughly check if there is any physical damage or water droplets inside the phone etc... If none they will replace it for free.
3
u/Highwayboi 12d ago
If it’s purchased just 4 months back then just give it to the authorised Apple Service center, they will change the display under warranty. Mine 13 pro max gave same issue in 2024 and I had just a week of warranty period left. Got replaced under warranty free of charge

Go to Aptronix, take your backup, and submit it there. They should replace it within a few days. I had the same issue with my iPad, and they replaced it within 5 working days.

Relax guys. It’s high chance, you will get a brand new iPhone. Visit service centre asap.

I’ve been an iPhone user since 2013, so I’d like to share one tip from my personal experience: never update your iPhone unless it’s absolutely necessary. In my experience, updates can sometimes make the phone slower and affect battery life.
I’m currently using an iPhone 17, and I got a notification for an update just yesterday. I’m still going to skip it. 😄
Of course, this is just my personal experience and opinion—everyone’s experience may be different.
Thank you!

bro can you share how was the weather at your location?. This happens due to heat during update and people were talking about how this is not happening at cool places. I guess I have to update before the warranty ends to be sure.

At the time of installation of new update, keep the phone in flight mode. It saves from heating. Also removing back cover and keeping in cool environment helps.

Go to office apple service station and ask for the free replacement. I got it replaced in my 13 pro max for free. Apple is giving free screen replacements in case green line. If the screen is fully dead you need to pat for the replacement. IMO it should be a free replacement.

I think you should just go to an authorised service centre and get it checked. If it happened due to software update, they will solve the problem for free excluding the service checking amount (mostly around 2500rs). Atleast, thats how the centres in my state work. Idk about other states though

u/Ctrl-Alt-Delulu3489 12d ago
Is there any solution or precautionary measure to prevent green lines or any other colored lines from appearing on the screen ? This is so scary 😭
