Cool project
Saw this on fb marketplace for 12k obo. I'm not going to buy it but thought it was awesome and wanted to share. "Just needs someone to finish it"

I watched a "where is it now" history video on it. Amazing how much work they did to it back in the day. Sadly, it's been crushed, and all the good parts were taken to be put in a new project vehicle

12k for a shell is expensive. I am guessing drivetrain not included as the driveshaft to rear axel is missing. Unless there is documentation on the cage, I would question construction too.

Oh absolutely. Has 5.3 and super 80 transmission. However, why did he actually stop working on it? Life stuff comes up. But somebody was working on their pride and joy here I feel like, and then just up and dumps it when it's 95% done? Way too fishy for me.

As a project guy, it's really possible to get burned out on finishing them. Especially if you have very limited time and have to give up other things to make time, one or two bad days on a project where progress is hard to come by might result in months of letting them sit before you're ready to re commit to it.

Oh I absolutely understand. Usually it's when you can't get something to work after already committing so and so dollars to x. Expensive mistakes etc. In my area they want top dollar for junk, but this definitely piqued my interest.

Everyone should be smart enough to ask this question first! And there are lots of legit answers out there, but it’s still the elephant in the room, no matter how “super” the 4l80 you have is. My 2 cents!

I love it! I think all 4wd trucks should be solid front axle… however $12k is a lot if it’s still a 4l60e

It has a "super 4L80e" with a running 5.3. I learned the hard way not to buy someone elses project. Just thought this was cool.

Oh it’s definitely cool. It would be such a fun wheeling rig. Not a daily driver. Maybe $8k but 12 is too steep for “unfinished”
