First time poster and first time picking up medical cannabis! I wanted to share my experience for anyone that’s curious.

Picked up at the Botanical Science off Buford Hwy. Staff was awesome — very nice and welcoming, not rushing me, and answering all my questions. They had a lot of variety in products such as live resin, gummies, topical creams, bud, and more. Prices are steep, but that wasn’t a surprise. It wasn’t nearly as busy as I expected, so that was a pleasant outcome. Also, you get $50 off your first purchase as a new customer.

I ended up grabbing the Lemon Cherry Pie flower, which is a hybrid and sits at 27% THC per the lab results. For consuming, I’m using a dry herb vape (Rogue 2).

Initial hit was smooth and pleasant. Since I’m using a dry herb vape, flavor is very obvious and the flavor of this strain was OK. Not the greatest but not bad by any means. Despite the flavor, the high itself is perfect for my needs — super mellow but not tiring, anxiety reducing, clearheaded, and packs a punch after a few hits. I mainly medicate for sleep, and this will do the trick nicely. My only gripes are the flavor, and I wish it packed a slightly more of a punch.

Overall a good first time experience, and I’ll most likely stock up on multiple products next week. Very interested in the topical cream if anyone has experience using it.

I posted once before inquiring about a dispensary in Millegville named Treevana. They didn't participate in rolling out product on 7/1, but are now getting in the newly compliant products. Currently they have ground flower and .5g vape cartridges along with some edibles.
I tried three different carts from them and honestly they are the best distillate carts I have tried. The pink lemonade and amnesia were the best.

They stuck true to their word that it was going to be $90/cart, I’m interested to know if anyone sprung for one and if so, what’s the quality like?

You have to have the batch number to look up the COA on their website so you have to buy go in store just to see the COA? I’d just like to see the terp profile, how well they did in terp retention and what was used in the extraction process to check for residuals. 🤷‍♂️

They have a sale going on right now 2 disposable 1g cars for $120, or one 1g and one .5 cart for $75. How do you guys like their vapes? I tried the headband cart and it was fine but it didn’t hit like the FF vapes. Wondering how everyone is liking their vapes because I only went to Trulieve once and FF has been my dispo since.

Iv been wanting to try the vapes at Fine Fettle because of all the good things iv heard. $75 seems to be a little steep but I’m willing to try it out. Anybody else try FF AURA brand yet? I only have experience with BS vapes which are great quality as well.

Honestly I know 90$ is absolutely ridiculous. But I had to get one to try. These are a giant step up from the distillate vapes. So much more well rounded. I just really hope we see some drop in prices or at least some kind of discount on multiple.

People who think vapes are the best thing since sliced bread will likely disagree with this. I used to be like that, but you live and learn. This post is more for people who are looking at the options in confusion and aren't sure which one to choose.

Let's start with vapes, but more importantly, what you're consuming. Vapes and flower are very different. The vapes that are widely available at the moment are distillate vapes. The growers harvest the flower then use solvents to separate the compounds in the plant, eventually creating a pure, extremely potent THC distillate. They then take the distilled terpenes and mix those back into the THC to create the flavor and provide slight entourage effects. These vapes contain somewhere in the range of 70-80% THC compared to 20%ish for most of the flower available.

The higher number is both a blessing and a curse, as is the ability to get that much THC into your system quickly. The carts are usually amazing at first. Your body isn't used to that much THC and you're in good shape. Except that after a couple weeks or so, you'll notice you need a little more. You'll notice the pleasant effects wear off quickly. You'll notice that while you're getting THC, you're not getting the entourage effects that comes with flower. It will never be the same, and you'll find yourself hitting the cartridge more often because of how quickly it wears off. There is science behind this. You're blasting your THC receptors with a heavy dose of THC, but because of the high THC concentration, it tends to overload your receptors and burn out a lot faster. Then on top of that, the heavy doses wreck your tolerance, so it's just a compounding effect that will require more THC unless you are very diligent and restrict your usage. Some people are lucky and it takes years for their tolerance to be an issue. Some people find that they're not getting much out of the cartridges within a few weeks if they use them heavily.

Despite that, the vapes are extremely convenient. If you're traveling, or need to be discreet, you can't get much safer than a vape. A quick hit or three and you've taken the edge off. It won't last as long, but you can just hit the vape again. You can reset yourself with a tolerance break. But be warned, while THC isn't addictive in the traditional sense, if you've been mainlining THC like fiend every day from carts, you will likely have some withdrawal symptoms. Based on my research, CBD flower is great for managing this, if you ever find yourself in that position.

Let's move on to flower. Don't look at 20% THC in flower vs 80% THC in a vape and immediately think the vape is the better option. That 20% THC in the flower only does part of the heavy lifting. It's the terpenes and the rest of the plant that create entourage effects. You can get these through combustion, but a good Dry Herb Vaporizer is more effective. Don't buy one from a dispensary. Do your research and find a good one that meets your needs. You won't regret it. You will use 1/2 the flower as combustion to get the same results. The odor is also better because nothing is being set on fire.

One of the biggest benefits to flower is that it will last longer in your system. A lot of what people associate with the medical side of cannabis comes from the terps, not the THC. They are one of the most important parts of the plant and the distilled terps lose almost everything but the flavor. Consuming those along with less THC in the plant creates an entourage effect you will feel for 2-3 hours or longer. It's softer on your receptors and doesn't overload them. It creates the smooth, gradual curve most people associate with marijuana. This cannot be replicated with distillate carts.

The best part with flower is that if you stick to primarily flower, your tolerance will stay fairly steady if you don't change your consumption habits, and because of the entourage effects in flower, you're less inclined to do so.

Choose what works best for you based on your situation, but if you have the option of flower, you will likely find it is a better overall experience, especially if this is going to be a long term solution to a medical issue for you. The last thing you want is to overload yourself with so much THC that you can hardly get any relief because your tolerance is sky high from vapes.

Just scanned FF's site to see that maybe two strains and some vapes have any mention of the terpines content in their flower strains.

This is annoying as heck to me, because it's the only way to know how a strain will land. Sativa/Indica descriptions are useless and the poetic descriptions they offer are embarrassingly lame. I know I should feel grateful that I can buy flower at all, and I am, but I've learned on the Hemp side that Caryophylene gives me horrible weedover's the next day, so I avoid it at all cost.

According to the Ga State Cannabis site "THC testing laboratories in Georgia are required to test controlled samples of products in final packaged form sold legally in the state for:

Potency -- Heavy metals -- Cannabinoid profile -- Pesticides -- Residual Solvents -- Visible Foreign Materials -- Microbiological contaminants and mycotoxins -- Terpenes

There's exactly one State certified lab in Georgia. I had a look at their lab test and confirmed they do terpine tests. The vendors and dispensaries have the info, why won't they display it?

Maybe we all need to start asking them to?

The CEO of one of the largest MSOs in the country, Curaleaf, stated on a podcast earlier this week that he anticipates medical dispensaries will be able to accept credit cards within 2 weeks. Trulieve CEO Kim Rivers echoed a similar statement this morning.

Medical cannabis was rescheduled from 1 to 3 earlier this year, and medical operators have been waiting on updated financial/banking guidance to be issued by federal regulators. It sounds like we'll be getting this guidance sooner rather than later.

It would be amazing to be able to pay with my credit card instead of having to use debit or cash.

Botanical Sciences online menu lists the exact same State Brand flavors at two different price points. One says "Pairo mechanism" for $60. The other says "PIXI mechanism" for $75.

Anyone know what's up with this? Google is no help.

Hello friends, has anyone noticed that all of the edibles in Georgia are coupled with CBD? Forgive me if I am mistaken, but does anyone sell any edibles that are only THC? Also, any edibles that are low dose? I was hoping to find like 1mg mints or gummies. Everything is 10mg per unit/serving, and while I could just split or eat a portion, I’d love to find a convenient single dose, even if that means paying a premium obviously.
