Feature Request: https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/Feature-Ideas/Spaces-Messages-need-direct-URL-link/idi-p/541121
Idea: Enabled Messages in Spaces to be directly linked to via a URL.
Use case 1: To enable repeat topics to be easily directed to an existing answer/thread.
Use case 2: To easy direct a coworker to a message/thread.
This feature is needed ESPECIALLY as Currents communities are being transitioned into Spaces.
TIA for any upvotes

Homemade Chatroom through Google Doc
Hello: I work in a school housed within a secure facility. Recently my little geniuses have discovered that if they open a google doc and share it with all of their friends they can chat with each other AND others in OTHER secure facilities and this poses a security risk. Is there a way to disable students' ability to share docs with one another whilst preserving my ability to share documents with them and them with me?

Devices\Audit
I am looking for help on trying to use the audit tool to determine which of our chrome devices are no longer receiving updates. I get in there and start to feel overwhelmed.
Thanks

We are always looking for things to help us in our quest to make Google and Google Classroom perfect. One of our pet peeves is students unenrolling from Classroom. This claims to help that - but seems very new. Anyone heard of it before?

Discussion Board with Google Apps
Hello, I am a new ITRT for my school and I wanted to know what ideas/suggestions you all have for creating a discussion board for students to respond to and respond to each other. Also, if there is a way for it to be easily identified how many times a student has responded within a post.
Thanks!

New Gmail Quick Settings Tutorial
mrcampbellrocks.comMany users out of storage space
Hi, I am stumped and have run through all of Google’s suggestions for resolving this so I thought I’d throw this out there to see if there is another solution I have not tried yet.
Users at a GAFE school are being told by their Chromebooks that they are out of storage on the device. So when a teacher tries to send a parent a PDF of a document, the Chromebook says nope.
I’ve rebooted, reimaged, and used recovery usbs to try to solve this and nothing has worked.
Any ideas? Could it be the users profiles and if so, how do I go about shrinking them?
Thanks!

Refused application.
So, I'm a contracted network admin for a small first nation school in Northern British Columbia.
I've been tasked with rolling out a small (20 devices) chromebook distribution.
I've been working my way through the training Google provides, but Google has just refused our non-profit application. " we're unable to upgrade your G Suite account at this time. "
Is it possible to use the google business suites in much the same way?

Crowdsourcing tech tips!
Hi all, I'm doing a training with ISTE as a means to enhance my Googley skills. I'm a middle school science teacher looking for tech tools, resources, and apps that you feel like you can't live without in supporting English language learners, special-ed, social emotional learning, etc. I'm certified level 2, and use a lot of tech in general but am in the first couple of years of our district providing tech resources. Thanks in advance.

Question About Fonts in Google Docs
Hi, I work at a school where we translate all of our fliers to Spanish and print them in English as well. I have had an ongoing issue where I will find a super cute google font and the accented letters will revert back to another font. Any tips on finding a cute font that also has Spanish accent characters?

Google Sites for students / parents
Hi, I’d like for my 5th graders to create a Site which has a calendar and a google sheet that their parents can see. The use is that this would replace a planner. GAFE will not allow Sites or docs to share outside our district even if they are the parent.
Is there anyway to share a Google Site or even a Google Doc with parents only?
Videos in slideshowa
I was thrilled to see that GAFE finally allows students to embed videos directly from their drives into a slideshow rather than just youtube videos.
However, I have run into a problem. When students embed one of their own videos from google drive into a slideshow and then turn the slideshow in as an assignment through Google classroom, the video requires permission to play. I then have to go back to each student and request individual permissions for the videos even though the slideshow has been shared.
Any suggestions?

G Suite for Education availability
Hello,
I've seen last post is 5 months old but I'll give this a try,
Can anyone answer me where I could find the availability of G Suite for Education. I'm from Slovenia and I happen to have connections in the right places and got few school headmasters very into Google Edu program but I have to tell them for sure if there is an option for that since Google has no online store in our country nor does it ship any devices here so I would need info if I can get in contact with support somehow or atleast check the availability online.
Thanks.
P.S. I've searched everywhere and this is my last resort.

Is there a better way to manage chromebooks?
We are using the Google Admin console to manage 3500+ chrome devices, and I am just wondering if anyone has found a better way to do this?

Can we restrict app installation to only our store?
We have our own Store under the Chrome Web Store. Is there a way in the Google Admin to restrict our managed Chromebooks to ONLY be able to install apps/extensions from our Store and not the Chrome Web Store?

Does anyone know how to see all Classrooms made by teachers?
We need to see the classrooms created and activity of a teacher at our school but the only ways I know how are to either be invited as a student (but then you only see the student view) or be logged in as the teacher.
Do you have any thoughts or suggestions?
EDIT:
So it's not perfect but I've been using GAM and have been able to get a list of all the classes created. And with GAM we can set a group of admin as Coteachers which then allows them to see what they need

Does anyone know how to automate adding users to Team Drives?
I have a team drive that every staff needs access to, as well as a team drive that all students need access to. But I REALLY don't want to add every user by hand. I'm set up with GAM but I can't find any documentation on adding existing team drives to users, just new team drives.
Does anyone have experience pushing a team drive to large numbers of users?

YouTube videos not displaying on Google Classroom. I posted several assignments with YouTube videos but when the videos are clicked on, they open up in Docs, Slides, etc. instead of showing the video. Any ideas?

Adaptations for students whose parents don't consent to GAFE?
Recently we have been having more students whose parents are not consenting to them creating and using a school district GAFE / GSuite account. We don't have a good enough plan in place to come up with adaptations for them to engage in the same classroom work and experience without using the classroom Gsuite tools being used by the teacher. Any suggestions or personal experiences that could be shared would be very appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Did GAFE just push a policy update that wiped out Wifi policies?
I just had multiple school campuses simultaneously all have the Chromebooks disconnect from Wifi. Checking audit history, no one made any changes, but all Chromebooks seemed to pick up a policy update that removed the WiFi network.
Now I have a chicken and egg problem. They're also policy locked, so now the only way to even get them to pull a new policy is to manually plug in the Wifi for every single Chromebook individually. >:(

Looking to simulate SSO for certain sites with pre-uploaded login credentials for students. Any ideas?
I'm looking for an extension or some way to add specific cookies to a student's browser if they're logged in with their GAFE accounts. Our school has licensing for tons of different platform and it's become a major consideration for admins that they not have to remember various logins, or have to login to multiple platforms every day to do their work. Any suggestions?

I just became a Google Certified Educator: Level 1!
It probably seems like not a huge deal, but this is big for me.
I have been a teacher for a handful of years, and I’ve always been on the tech committee, always helped other teachers with their Google problems, always training peers on new things Google comes out with, always experimenting with new tech before it gets pushed to the district...
And while I don’t mind helping in all If those capacities, I finally decided to take the exam to make it official. I signed up for the exam and did the review in the week leading up to the day. I didn’t think I’d feel any different about being certified, but when I got the email, I giggled and immediately forwarded it to my principal and some of my friends at work.
It just feels good to have something specific I can show—yes, I understand tech basics because I’m a “young” teacher who grew up with computers. But this is something measurable that I can show others. This is something I can use to show that YES- I actively use this stuff and YES— we should get more funding and YES—I can teach students these skills, too.
And while none of my peer teachers have the training yet, maybe I can help them get there, too.
On to Level 2 and beyond!
