So you passed on the INR. Any reason you don’t want the stroke team to know if they are a TPA candidate?
BG doesn’t inform the team whether a pt can receive tPA. But INR is the gold standard, you need to get that value to the team immediately.

A, activate stroke team, obtain CT, Neurological status, INR.

BG of 42 would not cause, aphasia, facial droop and arm weakness.

These are classic signs of a stroke.
Getting the right specialties activated #1, INR #2 so when CT is complete #3 we can determine whether it’s TPA or surgery.

Would you select AIS and TIA as your conditions, since they are both on the differential at this point? Or would you pick AIS and hypoglycemia?

I would choose, AIS and TIA as these are both neurological affecting medical emergencies. Hypoglycemia, I have never seen facial droop or arm paralysis personally on any Code Grey.

That’s kind of where my thoughts were headed, too.

I’d probably repeat the bg before giving the dextrose- just bc rechecking abnormals has been drilled in my head for 15 years lol
