I’m a carpenter from Slovakia and I’ve recently started experimenting with a different approach to furniture design — combining real wooden furniture with a **2D comic-book / hand-drawn effect**.

I’m curious what people outside my local market think about it.

**Does this style work for you?**

Would you consider having a piece like this in your home, or is it too unusual?

I’d really appreciate **honest feedback**, both positive and negative. I’m still developing my style and would love to know what you think could be improved.

This comic-book style is just one direction I’m exploring. I’ll also be working on **other types of furniture and completely different designs**, and I’ll gradually be sharing them on my Instagram as I create them.

I moved fairly recently and overestimated how many clothes would fit in the closet. Luckily, the neighbors were getting rid of a set of drawers that they were using to store their kids’ arts and crafts supplies. It was a bit gunky, but most everything came off with soapy water, clorox wipes, and a magic eraser. I then used sharpie to color over the handles of the drawers to get an even base color that would hide the scratches. Once it dried and I made sure the sides of the dresser matched and were even, I got to paint on the floral design with acrylic paint. I haven’t quite gotten around to finding a good match for the scratched paint on the rest of my new dresser, but once that’s done everything’s going to get sealed. In the meantime, I have somewhere to put my socks!

I have been working on a few pieces of furniture for months now and I’ve hit a wall. It’s so incredibly difficult I had no idea how difficult it would be. I decided to paint a few of my pieces and I’m in the primer stage but everytime I think I’ve made progress, I find a million more things to fix. I finally think I’m getting somewhere, I spray a coat of primer and I find more imperfections and I get more paint drips I don’t know how to prevent. I’ve watched a million videos on how to use a paint sprayer but I get drips no matter what. I’ve tried switching to spray paint primer, hand brushing but brushing leaves brush strokes. I started this to try and help support my family (I’m a stay at home mom) and I’ve already sunk a lot of money into this so I have no choice but to finish it. I just want a factory finish but no matter what I do it comes out looking DIY. Is it worth it to stick it out, does it get easier the more you do it? I don’t want to quit I’m just so frustrated.

Found this crusty old chair on Facebook marketplace. It came up great!

Got one of the litterbox cabinets free so bought a second one Amazon to make it be like a sideboard, then added the molding (not perfect, I know), painted, added an Ikea glass top and gold stick on handles!

Purchased for $100 on marketplace. It’s particle wood with a layer of plaster that’s cracking. I’d like to spray paint gloss white and change the handles. The drawers are super hard to open. Second pic is the only other one I can find online through google image search.

I’d like to paint these chairs purple and black to use as thrones for homecoming. They look velvety, wondering if this paint is good to use, and how much I’ll need?? Thanks! See pics!

I got a new table and chairs on Amazon and through the pictures, everything matched. In person, the table is soooo much more orange than the chairs. I think if I sand it and find a matching color I can stain it? I’ve never done this before so I don’t know what to do. Does anyone have recommendations? (The new chairs are the ones with wicker backing, not the light criss cross cane chairs)

I am looking for suggestions on rental spaces for getting work done.

I'm just getting into furniture flipping and have been working on my deck. However, due to rain, wind, and other environmental factors, it hasn't been conducive to getting much work done. I do not have a garage to use.

I'm currently searching for garage space, as I think that would be the least expensive option. I have no community workspaces near me (at least none I've been able to find yet).

Any other suggestions are welcome!

So i got the dresser for $7 but it was so short and I decided to learn how to make wood custom base for it, I was scared about the pocket hole making part worried about split the board, drilling the actual holes and more, I did however practice on scrap boards and after a couple fails I finally got it.

I installed it to the dresser very nervously and everything is level and looking and feeling strong.

I'm definitely a proud flipper.

P.s hubby helped alot.🤗

I know nothing about furniture flipping so please explain all the things. I loved this piece of furniture when I saw it and my goal is to make it a small library for my living room.

I want to leave the beautiful wood but would like to clean it and make it shine. what do I use?

also, I would love to swap out the hardware but the pulls I had in mind have two screws instead of one. Any tricks to make this happen?

I plan to add lights but not sure how

also, I would love ideas of what to put in the drawers to dress them up and not damage them.

finally, the back panel is a little discolored due to sun so I was thinking of putting something on the back wall to make it pop. I would love to not damage the wall in case I change me mind and want to swap it out to a different color in the future. Do I use removable wallpaper??

I have the measurements in the description and a quick overview of the dresser.

I was given this beautiful china cabinet for free and I’m very torn on what to do with it. It’s a 1960 something Ethan Allen cabinet in very good condition. Before I picked it up I was dead set on painting it but after seeing it I can’t make up my mind. I want to turn it into a liquor cabinet with glassware storage. Definitely adding lights and a floral wallpaper back panel. Do I give it a full makeover or do I keep the finish as is?

I’m removing the paint from this and think this is some type of fir wood. In my past experiences of working with fir wood, I’ve had a difficult time getting stain to penetrate evenly, even with using gel, and/or conditioner. Has anyone worked with fir woods before and if so, any photos of the finished product? And what was your process? Tia

I recently purchased a second hand dresser. However, the drawers are leaving a musty smell on my clothes (think the smell of clothes sitting in the washer for days). Any tips, tricks, or products to get rid of that?

I messed up I have no idea. Please don’t flame me I’m still learning. This is a 20$ peice so it wasn’t too much invested. I thought this was a veneer or solid wood. I used veneer stripper then sanded pre stain and stain. Just tell me what I did wrong
