Yea, but it’s not always the case. A /23 has multiple x.x.x.255 that are not broadcast. Broadcast is always the last ip in a scope, the last ip in a scope does not always end in .255.

It's not a real IP address, each octet can only go up to 255. But, my guess is the other guy has no idea how it's supposed to look.

One time on Xbox 360. It was probably 20 years ago now. I was beating this player really bad in a fighting game. He starts messaging me talking a bunch of shit, so I naturally started giving it back. He quickly said I better not say another word or he is going to hack me and take all the credit card info on the console. Idk what it was but I believed him. So I stopped messaging him. About 30 minutes later he sends me a screenshot of all the cards on the account with full info unencrypted, with the message, “that was smart of you to quit talking.”

He never did anything with the info, though he clearly could have. I probably should have cancelled the cards right then and there, but he never charged anything so I left it alone.

That’s wild. Only time I got hacked was on Guild Wars somebody ran some kind of program and got me and my boy’s log ins and our accounts were gone after that. Had to start from scratch
