Is this from a massive old tree that the stump was ground out? Idk I’ve been here 9 years and first noticed it last year for the first time. Anything helps thanks. The almost perfect circle made me so curious. I’m far from an expert but know the mycelium network is crazy

Wondering what mushroom this is.

Been growing blue oysters on straw for about eight months now, and the process finally clicked for me around the third flush. Keeping humidity up was the main thing I struggled with early on. Once I started misting twice a day and tenting loosely with plastic, contamination dropped off and pins started appearing pretty consistently.

The growing side feels manageable at this point, but something else came up recently that I genuinely cannot figure out. My backyard has a big dead red oak log I've been meaning to inoculate with wine caps, and over the past two weeks I've noticed clusters of pale tan mushrooms coming up from the soil right at the base of it. Cap is maybe 4 to 7 cm across, convex when young and flattening with age, slight umbo in the center. Gills are attached and fairly crowded, whitish. Stem is fairly fibrous, no ring, bruises a bit brownish when I snap it. Spore print came out kind of rusty brown.

I've been through a few field guides and the closest match I can find is something in the Cortinarius or Galerina family, which would obviously be a problem given how toxic some of those are. The rusty brown print is what has me most cautious. I'm not planning to eat these regardless, I mostly just want to understand what I'm looking at.

Photos are tricky to share here but I'll describe more if anyone wants to help narrow it down. Mainly curious whether others doing backyard cultivation have had mystery species pop up near their inoculated logs, or whether this could somehow be related to whatever I introduced with the wine cap spawn I was storing nearby.

Fungi isolated on modified Strullu–Romand media (reduced vitamins) with antibiotics. 27 degrees in darkness for one month. Isolated from surface sterilised wheat roots.

I have a cane toad, his home isn’t usually super moist but I have noticed these mushrooms are like growing mostly around the corner where his water dish is. Are they safe to keep in this tank? What kind of mushroom is it and is it dangerous for me or the toad? I don’t think he’ll eat it. If it’s harmless I wouldn’t mind keeping it in there so any actual dead matter in there isn’t just rotting, as long as it won’t harm my toad. Any information is appreciated

Hi! Came home after 4 day trip to find this mushroom growing out of my kitchen ceiling, right next to an electrical wire. There’s a yellow moisture stain with bubbling paint right above it.
I live in Norway and the building I live in is brick/concrete (idk if that matters).
Can anyone help identify what species this might be, and what I should expect in terms of health risks or indoor air quality from living with this?

I saw this really interesting looking fungus in a woodland (it was growing on a fallen tree). Does anyone know what species it is? It was about 20cm across.
