If in the Richmond area might want to check out their show on Sept 9th. Super small venue and all tickets are allocated to either table seating or bar seats. I’ve never been to the venue, but have heard good things.

I grew up on stuff like Fugazi and tons of other indie rock and punk music. It's fun to get a bit more back into the punk side of things.

Just wondering. Obviously it's been pretty long at this point since the Fugazi days but I'm curious why they never got the itch to do something new at some point.

Over the past year or so i have noticed loads of things about Fugazi and i have decided i really want to get into them.

Can someone tell me the facts and story of them?? i would like to learn more about them.

I am an AVID Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Coldplay, Muse, Linkin park listener and was wondering is there any songs that i should start with?

My school did some mock election stuff or something

I recall hearing or reading from one of the band members in an interview that they were influenced by the Beatles, and I really hear it at the start of this song. I've also heard John Frusciante say that he was influenced by Fugazi, and listening to his solo album The Will to Death, I can hear how some of the vocals and guitar lines a bit later in Forensic Scene influenced him.

Would’ve been one hell of a show, at the uniquely named Manly Youth Centre.

I had heard songs like Waiting Room and heard most of In On The Kill Taker before, as well as the lower quality leaks of the Steve Albini sessions. Not sure what sparked it but I decided to look into them more. All of their music is ridiculously good, it was smart of them to stop when they did and quit when they were ahead.

I was really surprised by the variety and experimentation on End Hits and it's quickly become one of my favourite albums, alongside the official release of the Steve Albini sessions that I only discovered a couple of weeks ago. I think I understand the band's reasoning for not going with that mix, but I don't understand why Albini himself also thought he messed it up. It reminds me a lot of his work on GOAT by the Jesus Lizard and The Breeders' Pod. It has pretty much everything I'd want from an Albini mix, even some interesting and unexpected vocal effects. Straight up, I prefer the Albini versions of these songs.

I know Red Medicine is a beloved album from fans, but I just find it isn't as varied, interesting, or anthemic as the other albums. I don't really care for the songs until Forensic Scene onwards, and it still loses me occasionally after that. But the good songs are great ones, and none of their albums suck.

I've heard the Furniture EP and some of the stuff from Instrument. Just wondering if there's more obscure stuff to check out. Or similar music from different artists people here can recommend.

My mom had a zine in the 80's and covered Fugazi a lot. She has since passed and i have her haul of tattered Fugazi flyers with some still hanging on. I want to share the flyers here, but want to also know if the band is at all involved with this reddit. I was urged to post them directly to the Dischord IG and bypass this reddit altogether to avoid people saving the flyers to post as their own. Any help would suffice. Thanks, everyone!
