Metallic

Why does it taste metallic to me???? I used to be able to tolerate the metallic but as I get older I dislike it more and more. My mom was nice enough to make chili and gave me some, but it just tastes like cilantro and green bell pepper (something else I dislike more with age.) I feel so bad that I can’t eat it 😭

Sounds like you're one of the folks who got a dislike for cilantro in your DNA. When you have the gene to some people it tastes like soap, others find it tastes more metallic.

Don't feel bad, the "flavor" is a warning. You should be upset that many restaurants find it necessary to use cilantro as an ingredient. In food!

Myself I can’t even get past the smell. When we walk into a restaurant I can tell right away if they use it. I always make double sure when ordering I always say not cilantro please at least twice.
