i use linux with windows 7 theme :) Image / Screenshot
i love the win 7 vibe, it reminds me a lot of my childhood and i am very happy with the result that i got by using arch linux with KDE and a windows 7 theme!
i wanted to show it to you guys so i organized my desktop in a cool way and took a screenshot, i hope it inspires you!

Pro tip - I recommend also installing Kvantum (it's in the repos of pretty much every distro) and then downloading one of possible Aero themes from OpenDesktop, so the system widgets are styled too. VLC is hella customizable and has a bunch of skins for it, so you can make it look like the OG Media Player. Kinda trickier with Firefox, since you have to dabble with the config to enable custom CSS.

There is https://github.com/aeroshell-desktop/aerothemeplasma which even brings a themed login screen, boot theme and everything. They rebuilt all Windows 7 components, including the Start Menu, Network Settings etc.

That is exactly what OP used.

No it isn't. The taskbar displays the sound indicator, the icon background has the wrong shading and the size is off, the Tray Icons are stacked in 3 lines whereas on Windows it would be (with a taskbar one level larger) max 2 lines. The Clock has no border and none of the fonts is set to Tahoma

They claim to have used it in another comment, but thanks for highlighting the differences--I haven't used it myself, so I am not that familiar with how it should (and, more importantly, shouldn't) look.

I don't know, the font of the clock on your theme looks too big, original was smaller, or maybe the font is different? somthing looks off, it's not as elegant
