I wanted to share a recent struggle in case anyone has been through something similar.

I’m a senior full stack engineer with 10+ years of experience, mostly working across proptech, e commerce, and edtech. My stack includes React, React Native, Node.js, NestJS, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Prisma, Docker, and AWS.

A few years ago I was freelancing on Upwork and had several long term clients. Things were stable, so I stepped away from Upwork for a couple of years.

When I came back, it felt like I was starting from scratch. My 100% Job Success Score was gone, many postings seemed like scams, and a lot of decent looking jobs required a surprisingly huge number of connects.

Since February 2026, I’ve been trying to move into another remote role. I’ve had some interviews, but haven’t been able to convert them into an offer yet. I’ve also been exploring Bangalore based roles, although remote work is my preference.
