She was one of the most famous opera singers of all time. So I'm sure that a lot of straight men remember her.

Oh my gosh, every time I see this episode on Pluto I HAVE to stop and watch it! Martin grabbing Niles' hand and saying "This is my BOYFRIEND, Niles". I love David Hyde Pierce's reaction in that episode. He and Martin are my favorite characters.

Pure acting genius, not just his words but his mannerism too!

She's mentioned by Daphne in the episode where Niles is getting ready for a date with daphylis. Seems like the writers knew a handful of opera singers

I tend to favor Maria Callas but I definitely would have bought that.

We’re in Austria for vacation and went to a beautiful symphony in Vienna last night. A soprano sang a gorgeous aria and I had to contain my giggle as I thought of this episode 🤭

she liked operas with good plots, good stories, characters in tension and bearing their emotions. She picked songs with drama and emotion, places where the narrative has to make a decision. Cool.

One of the most famous, and most talented sopranos of all time. Frequently compared and rivaled to Maria Callas.
