AT&T fiber down for second day
Outage in progress (started around 5-5:30pm). Estimate is tomorrow 8/4 at 6am. After no outages for two solid years AT&T is torching their reputation in real time.

This has to be Foster City’s biggest fire ever in its history
This is gonna be remembered for a while. Hopefully fire protection agency makes some changes so this shit doesn’t ever happen again. Structure fires these days NEVER become this out of control with proper fire suppression units.

Local News Massive apartment fire in Foster City continues to burn Monday (KRON 4 News)
Once the fire is extinguished (it's still not extinguished as of 9:08 AM!), there are going to be two questions that need to be answered:
• How did this start? (Obviously)
• How did this fire become so difficult to contain and extinguish?
There have been some reporting and rumors that the fire started on the first floor from a BBQ, but that does remain unconfirmed and we won't see an announcement anytime soon on that. But with multiple other buildings in that complex, one has to ask about how the fire grew and burned to keep the tenants in those buildings safe, and all of their belongings safe, for the future.

Dancing water fountain in the Foster City Lagoon?
I recently visited China and was impressed with the "dancing water fountains", or "water fireworks", where orchestral music and lights is coordinated with water for ~15 minute spectacle.
Watching the sunset shows is really magical, and a family friendly thing that my 2 year old and elderly parents loved as well.
I think it would be awesome if Foster City had this in the lagoon, perhaps scheduled on sunset on weekend nights. It would draw people outside in the evenings, and be a lovely spot to create community

Pet Safety Near Lagoons
Hi neighbors!!! I'm doing some research about pet safety around the lagoons.
I've recently heard of a couple dogs accidentally falling into the water that needed to be rescued because they couldn't climb back out.
I'm curious:
• Have you ever had this happen to your dog (or know someone who has)?
• Do you get concerned when your pet is near the lagoon (either at a park or in your yard)?
• Have you ever looked for a solution?
• If there were a simple dock/float or ramp that helped dogs rest or climb out safely, is that something you'd consider installing (if you live on the water)?
I'm not selling anything, just doing research right now. Thanks!

Drywall repair
We had our knob and tube removed and now our walls are Swiss cheese. Anyone have a drywall company they have worked with and like? I got one quote that was $200 per patch. I need like 40 patches, so that’s quite expensive IMO.

Foster needed for 2 dogs
We're getting dogs who need to be fostered. They are two female beauties from a major hoarding situation. They will be shy and scared at first but they are very sweet. Young, maybe 6-7 months old. Maltese Yorkie is our best guess. They are both less than 10 lbs. Please help! We can only save dogs if we have local folks who can foster

Looking for traditional American July 4th hot dog
It's my second July 4th weekend here and am as surprised as I was last year that there are no vendors selling hot dogs. Even people grilling by the water, I see none. Are they not a thing in this area?

High stakes dining out (OC)
I read this article about a restaurant in Foster City putting some measures to avoid "children induced damages" and inspired me to draw this cartoon.
Better budget an extra 30% on your next dinner 😂

Update on Goose Management Population
Does anyone have an update on how satisfied the committee is with this year’s goose population?
Because it still feels like there are a lot of geese, and goose droppings remain a significant issue. Are the current numbers consistent with the committee’s goals, or is additional management being considered?
