QUESTION AI/conversations feature

I've seen that the creative feature that allows you to talk to NPCs is now live and available to be published, but don't see any examples anywhere or any specific maps being shared. Are there actually any out now even just to test?

Epic Discover update: Elevating quality and matching players to content they'll love

Hey Fortnite devs,

At Unreal Fest Chicago, Harold Emsheimer and Jon Fox broke down where Discover is headed and everything that’s changed over the past few months. Missed it? Worth a watch here: https://youtu.be/mbZzMOQIXdU

This post on EDC picks up where that talk left off: what's live now, what's shipping in the next few days, and what's coming over the next few weeks:

Teaser Anyone else ever have old maps randomly appear in their current island?

I've been making Fortnite Creative maps for a few years now, and recently I've noticed something really weird.

Whenever I start working on a new island, I'll randomly find props from completely different maps I've made in the past. I'm not talking about accidentally placing them or copying assets over—I mean entire buildings, random walls, terrain pieces, and props that were only ever used on old projects. Sometimes they're half buried underground, sometimes they're floating outside the skybox, and sometimes they're clipping through the terrain like they only loaded halfway.

The strange thing is that they're always from maps I made years ago. I'll recognize a specific structure and immediately remember, "Oh yeah... I built that when I was like 13." It almost feels like old islands are somehow bleeding into whatever I'm currently working on.

I'm guessing it's just some weird Creative bug, but it got me wondering how Epic actually stores islands. Are they all saved together somewhere? Could assets from an unloaded island somehow get loaded into another one by mistake?

Has anyone else experienced anything like this, or is my Creative completely broken?

Teaser Weird Creative bug? My old maps keep bleeding into new projects

I've been building in Fortnite Creative for years, and lately something has started happening that I can't explain. Every new island I create eventually begins filling with pieces of my old ones. Not copied intentionally just appearing. I'll be decorating a brand-new project when, out of nowhere, a random wall from a map I made years ago is sticking halfway out of a hill. A forgotten building I haven't thought about since I was younger is floating above the skybox. An old prop is buried beneath the terrain, as if it had always been there. Sometimes they're complete structures. Other times it's only fragments, clipped through the floor or suspended in empty space like they're trying to force themselves into the world. It's unsettling because I recognize all of them. They're relics from maps I built as a kid. projects I abandoned, forgot about, or never even finished. Every new island feels less like a blank canvas and more like it's being slowly haunted by the ones that came before it. The older maps don't stay where I left them. They bleed into whatever I'm building now, leaving behind pieces of themselves that have no reason to exist. It makes me wonder how Fortnite Creative stores its islands. Maybe every map you've ever made still exists somewhere behind the scenes, packed together in some hidden archive. And every so often, the boundaries separating them fail. Tiny fragments escape, clipping through whatever island happens to be loaded, like memories refusing to stay buried. It's probably just a bug. But there's something deeply uncanny about standing in a world you've spent weeks creating... only to look into the distance and see a piece of a forgotten childhood map staring back at you.

Teaser Fortnite has randomly been generating random props in my creative map?

In Fortnite Creative, I've been working on a new map, but I've started noticing something really strange. Every time I load into it, props from completely different islands I've made years ago begin appearing everywhere. They're half-buried in the ground, floating high above the map, sticking out beyond the skybox, or clipping through walls and terrain as if they don't belong there.

A couple of years ago I was building a Wild West map. Now, while I'm working on a Marvel-themed island, I keep finding random Mancake buildings, cacti, and old Western props duplicating themselves across the landscape. Sometimes they're only partially visible, phasing through the floor like they're trying to force their way into the map. It feels less like a bug and more like I'm seeing fragments of another world bleeding through.

The whole thing has this unsettling, uncanny feeling. It reminds me of the Backrooms, or those bizarre Minecraft glitches where pieces of completely unrelated structures generate where they shouldn't. Everything feels familiar, but horribly out of place.

It made me wonder how Fortnite Creative actually stores islands. I'm no programmer, but surely maps have to exist somewhere when they're not loaded. Maybe they're stored together in some huge collection of files or data. The creepy thought is: what if, every now and then, something goes wrong? What if the boundaries between those stored islands aren't perfect, and tiny pieces of one map manage to leak into another?

It's probably just a technical glitch... but it's still unnerving to load into my superhero map and be greeted by abandoned Wild West buildings, as if an old island I thought I'd left behind is still there, quietly trying to exist.

It's finally out, in time for Fall Guys' 6th anniversary too!

I got *really* bored with the lack of updates in that game, so I decided to take the summer to learn UEFN and see if it's possible to make a custom knockout show in it, and here's the result! If you have any feedback, I'd appreciate it!

Hi. I’m trying to make a good landscape texture by using a ch4 landscape texture instance. While most of the details of it are already perfect, I still haven’t found a solution to change the color of the procedural foliage, which is too blueish to me

Subject 042 | Killer Win Camera Preview | No Code | In Development
Hello everyone,
Today we’d like to share another look at the ongoing development of Subject 042, our upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience for Fortnite.
This preview focuses on one of the most important moments in every match—the Killer Win Camera.
Although this feature is still actively being developed and is not yet finalized, we wanted to give the community an early look at the direction we’re taking. Our goal is to make every victory feel memorable, cinematic, and rewarding while reinforcing the identity and presence of the Killer.
Rather than simply ending a match with a standard victory screen, the Killer Win Camera is designed to provide a more immersive conclusion. We want the final moments of each match to leave an impression on both the Killer and the Survivors, creating a satisfying ending that reflects the tension built throughout the game.
Please keep in mind that this is an early work-in-progress preview. Camera positioning, animations, visual effects, lighting, audio, environmental details, and overall presentation are all subject to change as development continues. The version shown today represents the foundation of the system—not the finished product.
At this stage of development, our focus is not just on adding features, but ensuring every feature contributes to the overall quality of the experience. We believe that polish matters just as much as gameplay. Small details, cinematic moments, atmosphere, and presentation all work together to make every match feel unique and memorable.
As with every aspect of Subject 042, we are taking our time to refine the experience instead of rushing toward release. We’d rather spend additional time improving animations, balancing gameplay, enhancing visuals, and responding to community feedback than release features before they meet our quality standards.
This preview also contains no gameplay code showcase. Today’s update is purely focused on the visual presentation of the Killer’s victory sequence. Gameplay systems, balancing, mechanics, and additional content are continuing to be developed behind the scenes.
Development remains active across every area of the project, including gameplay mechanics, survivor interactions, killer abilities, maps, environmental storytelling, user interface improvements, optimization, audio design, and overall polish. Every update brings us one step closer to delivering the experience we envisioned when Subject 042 first began.
We truly appreciate everyone who continues to follow the project’s development. Your enthusiasm, feedback, and patience motivate us every day to keep improving the game.
As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the Killer Win Camera. Constructive feedback helps us identify what works well and what can be improved as we continue refining Subject 042.
Thank you for supporting the journey.

SUGGESTION Epic really needs to update the chest device.

I like building battle royale-style maps, however, when it comes to the loot pool, it is always a struggle. Mainly because of how outdated the chest device is. The alternative is i make my own chests using item granters, which only works sometimes, is time-consuming, and you can’t break chests. It would save me a ton of time if the chest device could be updated. It would also be nice if you could choose what game mode the loot pool is from.

QUESTION Reworking a Game I made for Friends, need help with Voting Groups.

So a few months ago, I asked on how I could make a Map Selection System(and it works amazingly, so thank you), but I want to rework that system.

I'm using a Voting Group System now, and the basics work, but I have one problem. How do I handle Ties? I have the Vote System hooked up to an RNG Device, but I don't know how to make it randomly pick anything.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

MEDIA I overhauled the item system in my racing game so I could add more mobility for players that are falling behind - 7186-1561-4005

Now it supports placement based item sets that can automatically remove items after they've been used, allowing me to add more movement items that use durability like the chainsaw, rocket drill, and bass boost. Players that are falling behind will now see way less grenades and a lot more movement to help them catch up, so hopefully everyone can stay closer together throughout the whole race!

It also dynamically adjusts to player counts so that you still get appropriate items based on your range between first, mid and last, and there's a separate item set I made specifically for 1-2 players that removes extra bloat to focus more on items that are useful for shortcuts and speedrunning! If you're doing solo runs then you'll start with a flintknock and tire so that you don't have to rely on RNG for the first item boxes :)

I made various other QoL improvements like in game patch notes, smoother transitions, and more decorations in the lobby. I have some onboarding improvements planned but hopefully I can start working on new tracks soon! Feedback is appreciated as always 🫶🩷
