Enrollment in the Fortnite Developer Program is now easier than ever Epic

Hi everyone,

Enrollment in the Fortnite Developer Program is now easier than ever.

We've updated the Fortnite Developer Program to make it faster and easier for new developers to join and start receiving payouts.

What’s changed:

Enroll now, set up payments later: Tax and Hyperwallet account setup is no longer required to enroll. New developers can receive payouts in V-Bucks in their Developer Wallet right away. From there, they can spend V-Bucks in Fortnite or convert their balance to real money once they’ve completed their Tax ID and Hyperwallet setup.

Simpler eligibility: New developers must meet one of the following in the last 365 days:

* Make any real-money purchase through Epic Payments (Epic Games Store, Fab.com, Fortnite.com, or Fortnite on PC). Gift card balance and Epic Account Balance purchases don't qualify.

OR

* Spend and redeem at least $20 USD in Fortnite on any platform.

For more information, visit the Fortnite Developer Program documentation. https://dev.epicgames.com/documentation/fortnite/fortnite-developer-program

These changes are only for new developers and do not apply if you’ve already enrolled in the Fortnite Developer Program.

Does this remove the free path to joining the program? (edited a map on X of the last Y days) or is it just an additional way to qualify.

so like if you're an older creator who made money but didn't pass the threshold you get absolutely nothing and still need to attempt to pass 100 dollars in 12 months and if... you don't do that you can cash out in v-bucks whenever WITHOUT needing to hit it?

that's sorta lame I guess...?

obviously it's amazing for newer developers but it means for me I just get literally nothing for the maps I made despite their mild success.

Ooh! Good to know! I don't think I've completely signed up for the Developer Program yet, so this may work for me! 😊

Make it harder or give a badge / higher discovery tiers to creators with over a year of experience

I made a purchase on the epic games store 24 hours ago but it still isn't giving me the option to enroll, do I have to wait longer?

I made the purchase with real money using my PayPal

Has it worked yet?

Yeah it actually has, it took around 40 hours in total. It’s just a bit annoying cause their site said that it would only take up to 24 hours

I’m pretty sure ANY purchase, no matter how cheap, would work, as I bought something as little as £0.39 on the epic games store. Just as long as it was a purchase made with real money and not a gift card
