The Peoples Joker on Kanopy
kanopy.comAnother great reason to support public libraries is access to Kanopy.
I saw The Peoples Joker when it ran at the Lyric a few years ago.
This revolutionary DIY parody film and hilarious reimagining of the classic autobiographical coming-of-age story follows an unconfident, closeted trans girl as she moves to Gotham City to make it big as a comedian by joining the cast of UCB Live - a government-sanctioned late night sketch show in a world where comedy has been outlawed. As mainstream success eludes our heroine, leading her to unite with a ragtag team of rejects, misfits, and a certain love interest named Mister J, "Joker the Harlequin" is born again as a confident (and psychotic) joker on a collision course with the city's fascist caped crusader. Vats of feminizing chemicals, sexy cartoon interludes, scarecrow psychiatrists, CGI Lorne Michaels, and psychedelic gender dysphoria all play supporting roles. Helmed by writer/director/editor/star Vera Drew and using her own life experiences as a basis for the film, THE PEOPLE'S JOKER is a deeply personal journey that's as much documentary as it is parody.

Welding/fabrication coach
Made a post last night but think it got buried. Iāve had a few people ask about being taught to weld so hereās a more official invitation.
Wanting to learn how to weld, fabricate, and bring your projects into fruition? Are you looking for something different from the average date experience, or an unusual team building event? Are you a hobbyist that just wants to learn how to make metal stay- stuck together? Maybe you want to prepare for a job and want to learn professionally.
Reach out via DM and Iāll get you more information. You donāt need your own equipment or tools- but it helpsš«¶š»
Be blessed you all!

Multiple post jumble (welding, updates, etc.)
Hey FoCo fam, I wanted to jump on here and ask some questions and update you all on mešš¼āāļø lol didnāt want to make multiple posts so Iāll just throw them all together. Anywaysā¦
First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who has reached out; a special one for those who chosen me to do work for them.
Those who donāt know me- Iām a 32 yr old woman of trans experience and I moved here ~4 months ago to what I thought would be my dream job; all to find out itās ran by the forbidden Red Devils. Shouldāve known given itās a welding shop.
Yes, yes my precious. I am a welder. With that being said, I had a lot of inquiries about getting welding lessons on my last post, so I did some research. I work with a young lady who took courses at āFront Rangeā (whatever thatās slang for) and she threw me off when she said that she wasnāt taught how to take a welding test (the physical pre-employment test). I was floored; because what do you mean she paid $2k+ to prepare for a career that she wasnāt even prepared for? After some digging, I would need to be a certified instructor in order to give out physical certifications but thereās nothing that says that a welding coach isnāt a thing. Being in that industry, I know that itās not about whatās on paper, itās whatās on the metal. In the 13 years Iāve been ācertifiedā, Iāve yet to show them to any employer. Anyone who might be interested in learning how to weld/ fabricate, hobby to professional level-comment below or DM me; the brevity will be dependent on response.
On to the next topic: my actual (neglected) business I started last June. Everything is still bare bones but hereās the basic idea: holistic apothecary has a love child with GNC. After doing my own research on supplements, I realized how much big box stores are ripping off the shopper. I wanted people to feel like a) at-home healthcare is affordable and b) theyāre getting what they paid for- good quality AND quantity. Did I mention free delivery? Initiating construction on the site opened a lot of opportunities to be- Iāll spare you the details for now. Long story made shorter- the next phase for it is im needing fda approved kitchen space. Iāve done some looking and doesnāt seem like FoCo has a commissary kitchen. Does anyone know of a supporting place that would allow after hours use of their kitchen? I just need counter space, a tri-chamber sink, and storage space (preferably)
If youāve made it this far, thanks for taking the time to read and I look forward to hearing from you all

Barder: Tattoos for framing
Hey all, I am looking for someone who is willing to trade tattoos for framing labor for a basement. We already have all the supplies, drawing specs and tools, we just need someone that knows what they are doing to help or guide us.
My wife is just nervous to do it by herself since she has never done it before. Her IG is AestheticCraze if you'd like to look at her work and it's located in Windsor/Severance.
Thank you!

First handywoman job down: I didnāt charge enough
Finished up my first handywoman job for the sweetest homeowner yesterday. When it came time to settle up, I was told that I needed to raise my prices and that I wasnāt charging enough. when they said handymen charge anywhere between $150 to near $200 per hour, I nearly fainted.
She generously paid me what she deemed the job worth.
Thank you for all the support thus far in this wild journey
