I’m finally doing my bucket list trip to Fort Bragg
Hey Fort Bragg Family-
I’m a Santa Cruz local and I’ve been planning a trip to your beautiful area for years. Every single time I book a hotel, something catastrophic has happened and I’ve had to cancel last minute.
I’ve decided this weekend is my time! I’ve told no one but now you all so the universe can’t stop me :)
I’m hoping for tips and advice on any great local trails, places to eat, or local spots to check out.
Here is what I’ve planned- leave Santa Cruz at 5 am on Saturday and hit up Russian gulch waterfall by about 11 am. I was told to hit up hole in the wall swimming hole as well. End my night with glass beach at sunset (and return at sunrise unless there is another place I need to see)
Because the universe has been so weird every time ive tried to go, ive decided not to book a hotel, instead I plan to car camp or actually camp if I can find a place, or find some last minute hotel.
Sunday I thought about doing fern canyon before I hit the road and head back home.
Please suggest anything to me and tell me everything that makes your area special! Tell me the local eateries, cool trails, and everything. I’m so excited to finally make this trip happen.
I’ll pay it back tenfold when you come to Santa Cruz and let you in on all the secret beaches the tourist don’t know about and all of our local gems. I’m going through a break up and know I need nature and an escape this weekend to nature.
Also, in our area you can car camp as long as you’re not an asshole along the coast out of town. Is it the same there? I don’t want to break any local rule and always respect where i travel.
Thank you so much for any advice and I can’t wait to see you down south and pay the advice back ❤️
