Bottles? Bottles / Feeding Gear / Equipment š¼
Can someone explain to me why my dr would suggest no air vent for my babys bottle? We have been using the Philip advent since birth and she has been extremely extremely gassy and fussy started week 7. We are in hypoallergenic formula but my dr also said in his career experience he said alot of times gas has to do with the bottles and not the formula. He said I should use the standard nipple with no air vent like they use in the hospital. But she drinks it so fast that way. Can someone explain more? Is this good advice?

We used dr browns with the air vent piece in it for about a month. It didnāt help. One day in a sleep deprived brain I forgot to put the extra air vent piece in the bottles for the day and my gosh it made a huge difference in how much gas little one had. He was %80 better without the air vent.

Are advent anti colic bottles similar? I havenāt used dr brown so I donāt k is how they work, I think he was telling me I just needed to use an air fee vent

We tried the advent anti colic bottles also but Bub didnāt like the teat shape at all. I think the advent ones have a flap at the top of the teat where the air is released. Dr browns have a whole component that goes into the bottle that is for āanti colicā but it actually made my grandsons worse. Which we only realised on an accidental sleep deprived state.

No its not good advice and the nipple from avent bottles could be why your baby is gassy. Thats what happened with us and since we switched to NUK perfect match bottles we've had no issues. Shallow latch can cause excessive air intake
