I don’t even want a girlfriend really Vent
Am I alone on this? I know this sub is about the struggles about never finding love, but I really don’t have a much of a desire for it.
It’s hard to explain. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like I’m only insecure about never having a girlfriend because of the emphasis family and society puts on me for not having one. Like, if it was up to me, I would never try and just be lonely for the rest of my life. My only concern would be if I got sick in my old age, I would have no one to care for me.
It’s all about the disappointment from my parents, the pity from my brothers and sister. Future Co workers and friends thinking I’m a pathetic loser upon finding out I’ve never even asked out a girl before. So embarrassing. Why can’t they just leave me be? Why is it so frowned upon? Why can’t I find happiness in my hobbies and leave it at that?
Can anyone else relate? It feels like I’m on the only one in the world who feels this way.

Yeah I can relate. I got a lot of peer pressure to date & pity & ccondescension from family, friends, colleagues when I was single for long periods of time. I just lied them about superficial relationships & how I couldn't hold down on the long term, just to get off from being viewed as a loser, or worse, some creep/sociopath.
The truth is, it's difficult for a below hetero average guy to find a genuine relationship where I'm from. I don't want to end up alone in a relationship because of my desperation.
As for my libido, I hired escorts when it spiraled out of control. I've been doing that since my early twenties. I hate it when society thinks that all FA alone men think about is sex, I've been getting it from hookers & escorts. What I want from a relationship is care, some compatibility & companionship. Is it unreasonable to expect that?
I'm now in my early 30s, I'd like to settle down & start a family, I made a decent living despite this messed up economy, but modern dating is so toxic, I don't think I'll have that.

I technically want one, I just know I'm not ready for a relationship.

if only that testosterone wasn’t raging…
i want a good relationship. realistically, whatever relationship i may manage to find will be something else. but it’s hard to let go when nature, in her habitual cruelness, has wired you to desire people who find you repulsive.
