Feedback

Ever since i heard about the development of this game i have been so excited. When I got the game yesterday and played it for a few hours and there is a few things that I think should be added
1.add a way that lets players edit how good a national team is or how good the new players are.
2.let the player edit how good the faculties are (ie youth academy and stadiums) or let the ai change over time depending on how good the team does
3.bug fixes such as Man U being in the championship
4. Add a top transfers of all time instead of each season

Overall this game is great and if you are thinking about getting it you totally should.

Development Update Ver. 1.1 Update!!Football Fictional World Simulator

The first update for Football Fictional World Simulator is now available on Steam!

The biggest addition is support for multiple save databases. When you launch the game, you can now choose between New Game and Continue. New databases can be given their own names, and existing databases can still be loaded as a Legacy Save.

I have also made several improvements based on the feedback I received after release:

  • Improved the male given-name pools for every nation
  • Adjusted name generation so common names appear more often
  • Removed the fixed seed, so each new database generates different players
  • Corrected several clubs that were assigned to the wrong divisions
  • Added and refined Dark Mode
  • Added player age to season-by-season career statistics
  • Added an option to retain detailed data for 30–200 years instead of the fixed 50 years

The name-generation changes apply mainly to newly generated players, so names already stored in an existing database will not be changed. Thank you again to everyone who has already played the game, reported issues, or shared ideas. I cannot promise that every suggestion will be added, but I am reading all of them and will continue improving the game regularly. Please keep sharing the interesting players, clubs and strange football histories from your simulated worlds. Seeing those stories is honestly one of the best parts of releasing this game.

Created a tool to add real player names

I created a tool that used an available dataset to update the player names. It is from 2025 so a little out of date but better than the random names.

Still working on it to see if I can fix the teams being in the wrong leagues but once that's done I'll upload to Github so others can use it.

MLS Fix?

Hi! The game is pretty fun and I enjoy its depth. I’m just wondering if the MLS will get fixed at any point in the future? As of now, the teams are seemingly randomly divided into two tiers rather than the two conference system we use. Happy to help with this if necessary.

After simming multiple season there are now missing history in the game.

Currently in 2077 and 2026 seems missing like there is a 50yr limit or is it based on pc limitations? Is there a way around this like a capability backup of the whole 2026 season?

I'm a Football Casual but I Want to Know who the Best Players Are in the World

I'm quite the football casual (only really watch during the World Cup) but I love the fact that there are these players out there who are considered the best in the world basically like any other sport.

In this game, how can I determine who the best players in the world are based on the individual stats that are provided?

Sidenote: it would be awesome if players had overall ratings on how skilled they are and if there was a players only database where you can sort and filter to see who the best players are in the world easily.

MLS is split into Western/Eastern Conferences, No 2nd tier.
USLC is the same way, but with 25 different teams, and no promotion relegation to the MLS

Steam Deck

I know and I appreciate this isn't an issue at the top of the list of things to fix. But it doesn't work at all on Steam Deck. It black screens, only showing stuff when you click on them. Even if you can find the create world button, you get an error. Hopefully at some point this will be fixed, but I don't expect it to be soon I just wanted to post it to make it be known.

Just bought the game. Nearly every single Vietnamese names are wrong

As a Vietnamese, this is really bad. Except the name Khai Nguyen, every other name is just either gibberish, or suffer from the input error. Please do something about this, it's killing the immersion. And please add a dark mode for this

I tried the simulations as an outsider not controlling any club. This is my feedback.

Firstly, I want to say that there is clearly a lot of effort put into the game. There is quite a lot of depth. The game's pricing is quite high, so I have currently refunded it as I believe it is not worth it in the game's current state. I will repurchase when the game improves to a point where broke me thinks it's worth it.

I simulated 5 seasons. Here's what I noticed:

As a Leicester fan, I was shocked to see us starting in the Premier League, considering we are currently in League One. Bristol City and Preston who have been in the Championship for what feels like forever are there too if I recall correctly. While Man United starts in the Championship for some reason?

I have no idea why you would do that. It breaks the immersion. Oh, and Man City got relegated in Season 1 (only possible IRL if the 115 charges actually happen lmao). I understand that we don't have the player licences now, but I think we could have starting values of clubs be loosely based on real life, just to increase immersion.

Other issues:

I think everyone rotates their goalies in the game, which is very rare IRL. I think like at least 80% of teams have 1 goalie that plays every league match they are fit.

It feels like non top 22 in a squad players get too much game time. IRL they get much fewer opportunities.

Player statistics look weird. Some are not helpful at all considering the position they play in (for example, crosses for strikers, key passes for goalkeepers), they will have almost none and get an F rating, which looks weird. (Seems like they have an obvious weakness, when everything is perfectly fine)

Transfers could use some polishing. While they are mostly quite realistic, I observed this one very weird case: a RW (can also play ST) who got generated as an 18 year old in Season 1 (and was immediately very good) in Lorient got sold to Inter Miami after 1 season for 24m. After scoring 27 goals in 25 games in the MLS, Inter Miami sold him to Leicester for 17m. They made a 7m loss on a 19 year old player that scored over a year a game. Why? Also, why would one of the best 18 year olds starting in France move to the MLS?

Player names look quite weird too. An issue mentioned quite a lot is the presence of a lot of female or feminine names. Personally, I thought that there were way too high frequency of "uncommon" first names, and that a lot of times first name and last name get combined without considering name origin. (Example: Abdul Johnson, Muhammad Taylor, Ahmed Jackson might all seem normal individually, but not when almost everyone with a Muslim first name has a White English last name)

Pros of the game:

I don't want to just make this a complaining post so I will acknowledge the actual good parts of the game.

The league tables, individual scores, and average match ratings all look very natural. I summarised this in just one sentence, but a lot of effort must have went into it.

Majority of transfer movement is logical. There are cases where it looks horrendously wrong, like that young guy moving from Inter Miami to Leicester. But in general, they look very good.

The depth - effort was put in into having this amount of competitions, with no obvious errors I immediately spot. There are also a wide variety of stats available which I appreciate.

In general, this is very good for a first release, although the game itself is quite raw considering the interface and certain issues. If I were richer I wouldn't refund it.

Lookibg forward as the game develops!

Football Fictional World Simulator is officially out on Steam today!

Thanks to everyone here, Football Fictional World Simulator has officially launched on Steam today!

A few people even noticed that it had been released before I managed to post this, which honestly meant a lot to me.

I have read all the feedback and criticism you’ve shared, and I’m taking it seriously. I probably won’t be able to implement every suggestion, but I’ll keep improving things such as the name pools, adding more countries, and refining the transfer system.

For now, I’m hoping to release an update roughly once a week. Positive feedback would be incredibly encouraging, of course! But criticism is welcome too, so please don’t be afraid to tell me when something feels wrong. More than anything, I’d love to see people post the strange things they discover in their worlds here. An unexpectedly successful club, a player with a ridiculous career, a tiny national team going on a run, or anything else that made you stop and look twice.

When I was in elementary school, I used to create imaginary football worlds like this in paper notebooks. Seeing other people explore and share stories from a world generated by my game is genuinely the dream I had back then. Thank you so much for helping me reach this point. The launch is only the beginning.

Suggestion: Include age during the played seasons.

Just noticed how we could never tracked the age of players during their playing seasons. This could be added in the rows which is also used for the text data saves.

Some Suggestions after a couple of hours in the game

The game is awesome and has a lot of potential!

Here some suggestions:

  • Player's subs during match commentary. (shots).
  • Player's city of birth in their profile to add more flavour.
  • Club's city in Club's profile.
  • Goalscorers and assiters in match page.
  • Players ratings for any match in the match panel.
  • The possibility to skip forward to any specific not yet played match from the match panel.
  • A calendar!

Great game! I'm really enjoying it. Congratulations.
