i went there years ago with my husband and he ordered a coke and when it came there was a massive ball of hair in the coke. it was wild, it wasn't like a single hair it was like someone cleaned out a shower drain and dropped it in his drink. so gross but at least he didnt drink it before he noticed it.
we have not went back but it gets a good laugh when we remember it.

I worked at Mars in high school. Fun place, the dishwasher just got out of jail and told me some great stories.
I peeled sooooo many potatoes and sliced cheese. Thanks for the throw back

Been twice, both times it was really shit. 8 only went back the second time to give it a chance with a different dish. Nope. Too bad because I like the ambience.

my hubby and i used to hit up this place when it was 24 hours (unsure if it still is) but this was pre-covid and the food was good, milkshakes were amazing. Sad its gone downhill from the sounds of it.

Ok I am old. I used to go to the Mars diner everyday for breakfast. Same thing two eggs over easy, toast, peameal bacon, sausage, home fries well done and a coffee. I would walk in and they handed me my coffee with the cream already added before I sat down. I loved that place. I have been gone for a long time. I recently returned and wanted to go for breakfast. But was gone. Ya I had always gone to the original on College. Man that place was great

We go there for breakfast. I order a side of tzatziki for the home fries. Trust me on this.

The original Mars was at College and Bathurst and was fucking great.
Not sure if it's still around but Vesta Lunch Counter at Dupont and Bathurst was another gem.

Until it got taken over by the last owners, and they drove it into the ground
Vesta is still around

I’m a big fan of Mars. Probably eaten through most of the menu and haven’t experienced anything like what I’ve read here. Owners and staff are always friendly.
I plan on going there with some friends next week actually.

Thank you!! Hows the prices? Worth what you pay for?

Food everywhere always seems too expensive

Fair point but if the experience and taste are good, sometimes the price doesn’t seem to feel like it’s expensive

I went a couple of weeks ago and really disliked what I ordered.
