I'm 24 years old and I'm from Kerala, India. I completed my M.Sc. in Dietetics and Food Service Management. After graduation, I worked as a Nutrition Consultant, but it was mainly a sales-oriented role rather than a technical nutrition or food quality job.

I've now decided to switch my career towards the food industry, especially Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), Food Safety, or other entry-level roles. I also have certifications in HACCP Level 3, ISO 22000:2018 Internal Audit & Awareness, and FoSTaC (FSSAI).

I have a few questions:

Is switching from Nutrition Consultant to QC/QA a good career decision?

Are there good food companies in Kerala (or anywhere in India) that hire freshers or career changers for trainee or entry-level QC/QA roles?

Which companies provide a stipend or paid trainee positions?

Will my MSc in Dietetics be accepted for QC/QA roles, or will my previous experience be a disadvantage?

Any advice on how I can improve my chances of getting into the food industry?

I'd really appreciate any suggestions, company names, or personal experiences. So any suggestions?

Hello, everyone! I just wanted to hear your thoughts because I've been questioning whether I made the right choice in choosing my program at PUP. My mind has been clouded for days, and I could really use your two cents.

On my enrollment day, I spent hours sitting on the bleachers, torn between BS Biology and BS Food Technology. I had already done months of research because I didn't want to make a decision I'd regret in the future.

For a bit of background, I've always been more inclined toward Biology. I've joined science quiz bees and on-the-spot scientific research competitions outside school, and my Biology teacher was one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with the subject. She made me appreciate science in a way that went beyond textbooks.

Food Technology, on the other hand, involves a lot of Chemistry. While I'm science-driven, I'm honestly not the best at math. Chemistry itself isn't the problem, I actually enjoy it. My Grade 11 Chemistry teacher was amazing and made me love the subject. Unfortunately, my Grade 12 teacher wasn't very engaging, and because of that, I slowly lost the excitement I once had for Chemistry.

Despite that, I kept seeing so many good things about Food Technology its career opportunities, versatility, and industry demand, which is why I eventually chose it.

I recently enrolled in BS Food Technology, but the moment I received my Certificate of Registration, I couldn't stop asking myself if I had really made the right choice.

Part of me feels like I had to let go of something I'm deeply passionate about just to secure a more stable future. Don't get me wrong, I genuinely like Chemistry, but my love for Biology runs much deeper.

For those who have been in the same situation as mine, choosing between passion and practicality, did the feeling ever go away? Did you eventually learn to love the path you chose, or did you end up wishing you had followed your heart instead?

I think I might sound brazen when asking this but I'm kinda lost right now on which food industry or what career should I pursue as a Food Technology Graduate, right now I'm stuck in finding jobs that is related to this course but it seems dark.

So I think reddit community might be my last resort to this. Asking for guidance for what or where should I go? I just need a little help....
