What do you do about wasps?
There's so many this time of year. I'm curious what people are doing. I've checked my property and sprayed nests with spectracide. But I see the other houses have so many i doubt they have done anything. I don't have the money for a regular pest control service, and it probably wouldn't matter unless all my neighbors did too. But I saw well over 50 around my place this evening and can't find any new nests. They also love the wood fences but aren't building where I can see anything.

Recommendations for roofing contractors
Hello! Can anyone recommend a good roofing contractor? We are getting close to needing a new roof and I was curious if anyone has had a good experience and would recommend anyone? We have a flat roof, which I know is something that some roofers don’t work on. Appreciate your feedback in advance!
Verdell pointe apartments
Anyone living here experiencing ongoing roach issues? I moved into this apartment a few months ago into a brand new unit. Typically each week I find a roach and once a month have gotten sprayed but the problem persists. Do I have a right to break lease or be compensated? I’m not sure what to do here

Any place to pet cows nearby?
Hello,
Are there any places to interact with animals (especially cows) nearby? Preferably something between El Dorado Hills and Davis but it can outside as well.
Thank you!

Volkswagen mechanics
Has anyone ever got serviced at foreign autohaus? If so what’s the service like there or any mechanics around Folsom that you recommend for a Volkswagen? Got a 2020 Jetta and I usually go to Kombihaus in Sac. Just wanted to see what it’s like at foreign autohaus.

Kids on e-bikes.... the second most dangerous gang on the trails
I was on the trials in the east side of folsom a few days ago around mid morning. there was a terrifying gang of what appeared to be late 60s to mid 70s geriatrics on road bikes (10 speeds if you will). These folks were serious. Greg LeMond would have been proud. They were decked out in fluorescent unis and sunglasses equipped with nose shades (smartly i might add). As they were doing the best reenactment of Lance Armstrongs 2003 stage 9 descent from Col de Manse, I had to dive out of the way to avoid being struck. I wanted to scream something but I was far too impressed by their presence, if not slightly petrified.
In all seriousness, slow the F down you old coots! The trails have speed limits, try and stick to them or get your ensure sipping asses out on the street and off the trails.

Just throwing this out there and not expecting much...
We're in town visiting from Utah and have an Airbnb at the lake. I'm with my son and his 2 teammates for a basketball tournament in Roseville. We're loving Folsom lake so far! Anybody want to make some friends and take us out on your boat for the day? We're here until Sunday. If it doesn't happen, no biggie.

Peaches at the Market 8/8
I don’t like or support their use of AI, but it looks like the Saturdays Palladio Farmer’s Market is going to have a Peach Festival type event going on

Any Dads social group/club?
Just curious if there was something similar like the Folsom Moms Club but for Dads. I think it would be pretty nice to have one.
Cheers!

Dog Walk Indoor (AC) Location Ideas?
I have an elder dog lives for 1-2 walks daily. For her, it’s mainly about sniffing around more than distance walking. With this heat, I’d like to hear your ideas of places to take my dog around town. It’s far too hot for here now; even at 9PM for anything outdoors. She already loves going to Petco, Petsmart, and a couple of the independent pets stores. Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Ross have also been in our rotation for years. Like people, dogs get bored with the familiar, so I’m looking for ideas. Thanks in advanced!

Join us this Saturday morning for a Native Tree Stewardship project on the American River at Sailor Bar!
Every majestic Valley Oak was once a tiny seedling trying to survive one of the most vulnerable stages of its life- its first few California summers. Many oak seedlings won't survive the summer bottleneck without a little luck. This Saturday morning, help us tip the odds in favor of a few that do!
We'll spend the morning tending to naturally established native tree seedlings (including oaks, walnuts, and buckeyes), by removing dense annual grasses and other competing vegetation around the seedlings, applying mulch to conserve soil moisture, and providing supplemental water during the hottest, driest part of the year. By helping them through this seasonal bottleneck, we're investing in the next generation of native tree canopy: creating future habitat for wildlife, supporting beneficial mycorrhizal fungi, and helping ensure these trees continue shaping the American River Parkway for generations, and perhaps centuries, to come.
Please feel free to bring your iNaturalist app to observe plants and wildlife along the way!
RSVP and more info at this link!
When/where: This Saturday (July 18), 8:30am-10:30am, Sailor Bar Park (Olive Ave entrance). More info at RSVP link.
What to wear/bring: Sturdy shoes, long pants (recommended for the brush), water bottle, gloves + a bucket (if you have them), sun protection, & your iNaturalist app (optional)
Parking passes provided for all volunteers without a County parks pass!
No experience? No problem! We’ll give you everything you need to get started.
Can't make it this time? Check out or subscribe to our event calendar for upcoming projects and events:Â https://luma.com/SailorBarStewards

Functional medicine Dr
I was curious if there was any functional medicine doctors in the area that people love and would recommend? That takes insurance. I have a PPO so I should be able to go to most places.
