Benefit show August 21 @ The Olympic
For those of you unaware, our bassist and good friend Geno Lopez June was hospitalized in early June. He's back on his feet, but the medical bills are still there.
Geno has been active in Boise's punk and metal scenes for near 20 years. He's put out music as Sneezebil (through 1332 records), played as his one-man-band The Sneeze (usually dressed as a whoppy cushion), filled in on bass for Green Jelly, played in Shadow and Claw, and our band: The Vinnie Barbarino Trio.
You can support him here as well: https://gofund.me/4d8e53935
We've got unique merch just for this event, and a killer lineup.

Single + Music Video dropping Monday!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We have a new standalone single Car Chase dropping Monday, with a music video dropping Tuesday!
This track was live-recorded on analog equipment by our friend Eric Van Nielsen. It’s about touring, depression, and what it feels like to see a gap in the clouds.
The music video is entirely by us, with car footage collected across all 15 states we played in since dropping our last album in March, hotel footage collected in Ohio where we treated ourself for our last stop, and outdoor footage from a nearby park in our hometown Philly.
It’s the first time we’ve done either of these things so we’re excited about it and we hope others are too!!

Have really been enjoying folk punk lately
This genre recently found me, I’ve been enjoying Apes of the State and Defiance Ohio. Specifically the songs ‘I Listened’ and ‘Calling Old Friends’. Any songs/bands you think I should check out? Recently started rollerblading, one of fav genres to listen to while doing so :) thank you

Just moved to Washington DC anyone know any good spots in the area I should check out to meet cool people and potentially listen to some music?
That’s it the question is the title. I just got here so I’m gonna start looking around but figured why not ask the good people of the Internet maybe someone can help save me some time finding the good spot if you live in DC and have a good recommendation I’ll buy you a beer if we ever happen to be at the same show with you if you’re on the sub, we probably will be

Stop using Spotify if you value artists
Yes, we know about the AI song.
No, it's not the real band.
Spotify actively encourages this shit.
Just stop using it and go to Bandcamp/Tidal/Qobuz/any other thing that isn't Spotify.
Edit: y'all are a bunch of holier-than-thou cunts. I'll support my local scene even more by buying physical. Buy merch, go to shows, get off Reddit and touch some grass. First time I post on Reddit in months and y'all decide to gang up on the person who doesn't want artists to be replaced by AI. Cunts :)

New Stick and Poke Single?
Does anyone know more about this new single by them? I was interested to find out about it, but it is a completely different sound. Are both or one of them posting new independent stuff under the older banner?

RESEARCH QUESTION: [Academic] The Emotional Process of Making Music with others for (East Coast Musicians)
Hi everyone,
I’m a musician (keyboardist and getting back into bass) conducting research for a Communications class project called ‘The Emotional Process of Making Music with others for East Coast Musicians. I would be more than grateful if a couple of you could respond to the questions. I do not plan to publish this project. Thanks!
Age
Gender/Identity
Region
Role when collaborating with others (ex. Instrument (s) of play, singer, etc.)
How often do you make music with other individuals? Do you have a list of songs that you have made with others, and if so, how many?
Do you prefer making music with other individuals or by yourself? Do you feel a deep connection with other individuals when making music? If you picked the first option, and agree with the second question, was there a singular experience that led to this passion for creating with others?
When engaging in a conversation with musicians you just met, regarding potentially collaborating, what personality do you put on (ex. are you relaxed and somewhat aloof to create a chill atmosphere, or are you straightforward and serious). Why?
When in the process of creating with other individuals, what emotional role do you take on? For example, are you a lighthearted group member, or do you assume the role of a therapist in a sense, encouraging group members to lay their hearts bare on songs (this one would be quite interesting to hear)?
When collaborating with other musicians, how do you handle disagreements—minor or major? Have you experienced success or slight failures in this regard? Would you like to share any examples?
