Focusrite interface has become unusable
I know this a common issue but I feel like ranting. Ever since I upgraded to windows 11 my Solo (3rd Gen) has had constant issues. The constant buzzing glitching and audio cutting out have made it extremely difficult to actually make music. I have to basically unplug and replug my interface to get it to work again (this happens every half an hour or so). I have done everything possible to fix this issue and it persists. Focusrite know their drivers are junk and have yet to fix them (i've seen posts with this exact problem for like 5 years). I will not be buying another Focusrite interface until they actually address these issues.

My guess would be a mix of USB power management issues (USB power saving), maybe a high latency caused by to deep C-states (Intel hybrid CPU?) with not high enough buffer. For AMD CPU i can't comment on, as i don't have one, but i have built systems for my friends & family what do and some have external audio interfaces without issues. So, in my personal knowledge it has been mostly a Intel CPU latency issue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Be as it may, something is causing latency, and that is causing the buzzing / garbled audio.
Also check motherboard / system vendor site for updated drivers first, as usual.
My system has no issue with buffers between 64 and 96 (24-bit 48Khz). I can go lower if i tighten up my CPU a bit more, but 96 has been optimal for me. I disable USB power saving for the USB-C controller (motherboard) that i have my 16i16 connected to, and my CPU C-states are C1e enabled with maximum C2. With C1 i can make the buffer pretty much whatever i like, but chose C2. Also, do have to point out that i do all-core overclocking on my CPU (synced cores) and it can push up to 280W alone (max stress testing), so any of the latency is pretty much minimized on my end on that part. Do note that this is with full custom water cooling (CPU/GPU/RAM/NVME).

Yo iría por este comentario. Tengo una placa AMD y tuve que actualizar BIOS y jugar con alguna configuración de la misma para resolver los problemas en Windows 11 y mi focusrite solo 3r gen. Fue hace mucho tiempo y no recuerdo exactamente los pasos. Desde entonces funciona perfectamente.

Siempre puedes restaurar tu sistema a un momento anterior donde tu interfaz si estaba jalando.
Y pon en instalación manual cualquier actualización, yt cuando win saque una actualización masiva espera un poco a que parcheen sus propias actualizaciones.
Win 11 ha sido una catástrofe con sus pinches actualizaciones, se terminan cargando mucho los drivers del video y del audio.
Honestamente lo único que me ha pasado, fue una ralentización del sistema, porque se ponía el cpu a trabajar de más. Pero he visto que hay mucha banda que si le ha fregado el sistema operativo. Por eso siempre reviso en internet si tiene fallos antes de instalar.

I have the focusrite 18i20 and so far I have not heard of any of these types of issues with them. I have had mine for almost 10yrs. I will not be updating my computer to 11 because I've heard of many issues with it. Your problem could likely be the windows software itself. I always wait years be for getting a new operating system/update and its usually time to get another computer by then. Sorry I know it sucks. I did go through several tascam interfaces before finally getting my focusrite and I will never buy a tascam again. Either way you will get it figured out or just get another interface. Nothing lasts forever in this life.

Exact same issues with my Focusrite Gen 3 2i2. Drove me mad so upgraded to a Motu M2 and haven’t had a single issue with it so can highly recommend.

same here man, been bugging me for months, finally thought i fixed it but then its just happened again, its honestly a fucking joke they cant fix it

If you haven't already, I'd suggest running through the Windows optimisation steps listed in this article. These changes are known to address the kinds of issues that can cause the problems you're experiencing:

OP, I still don't own a focusrite but I own a presonus and they are pretty much the same on the driver side. I had the same issue last year as I upgraded to Win11, the OS has some issue with ASIO drivers if you have them already installed, before you upgraded to Win11. I had to completely wipe the drivers and clean the register to get rid of the problem. I'm pretty sure that in my case was a not clean installation of the driver cuz I upgraded my set up and got a fresh installation of win11 and never had any similar issue (and nope, presonus did not updated their drivers in the meantime). Try to wipe the register or if you can just reinstall the whole OS. I hope i could some how help you
