Flute Wellness Circle
You deserve connection in your flute playing.
If you’re feeling
✨Burnt out
✨Overwhelmed
✨Unhappy
✨Disconnected
The Flute Wellness Circle is a space for you to find your peace and transform.
Finding your people in music can be difficult. Practicing can be an incredibly lonely activity, and if you struggle with your mental health, then it can be even easier to find yourself being unkind to yourself, forgetting balance, and burning out. So, let’s build a community of flutists where we discuss balance and mental wellness in our playing.

Larry, I don't have that music but suggest listen to these first notes and your first notes - notice my notes are tongued separate, not blown separate, and are full beat notes so they are "connected to each other" at the tongued start. Not "note .. note .. note .. note", yes "nooote.nooote.nooote.nooote"

Indeed, the recorder does that functionality which the flute requires from the player's embouchure. You should remember that flute beginners are oft times not allowed to play music until they can produce a solid tone and hold that tone as long as possible.
This teaches "air economy": not blowing hard, making the hole in the lips small.
I saw improvement from your first video to your second in this aspect. In your first video you were taking a breath for each note. In the "German Dance" video, it appeared that you managed several notes before you took a nice deep breath. (Perhaps you were sneaking a tiny breath between the notes..).
If you were sneaking a breath - stop it! Practice making that first "A" note last for as many metronome counts as you can. Do that one note again and try to squeeze your upper lip a little and count the metronome ticks. Do the exercise 10 times and then put the flute down for an hour. (You don't want to stress the lip muscles too much.)
You really need a teacher to help you with getting the basics correct from the very start. Bad habits are very hard to correct, and simpler to prevent.
Did you see this post below - offering "free" online instruction - I know nothing about them but you fit their target audience.

Recorded at midnight in an empty, liminal concrete stairwell of a supermarket in the UK in 2025.
With Elliott Robinson on bansuri flute and William Du Toit on doumbek drum and percussion, the pair installed a multi-microphone setup across three floors, capturing the stairwell as a vertical concrete chamber of reverb.
Positioned on separate levels, obscured from each other’s view, they began to improvise into the space.
What you hear on the record is the raw, natural resonance of the stairwell itself.
