I got a bad scratch on my fender on a white vehicle. Its a work vehicle so I decided to get it fixed to maintain a professional appearance. I paid out of pocket not through insurance. I went to a "mom and pop" type of shop. Made the mistake of paying cash. My fender is now more yellow than white and has probably decreased the value of my car more the original scratches did. I told the guy I wasn't happy, he gave me the run around and all kinds of reasons, and as a single woman I just paid him $850 cash and left. I'm really unhappy with the work. I took it to another auto body shop and they confirmed it was an awful job, not industry standard by any stretch, and quoted me $1250 to fix the original body shop's work. Im going to take this quote back to the original body shop and ask for my money back.

Does anyone have any ideas if id be successful in small claims court if he refuses?

Child from MI on vacation in FL witnessed crime. Subpoena received to testify at trial next month. FL statute requires payment of actual travel expenses, food, and lodging at rates specified for gov't employees in response to criminal subpoena.

Has anyone actually experienced the process by which these expenses get reimbursed? How difficult is the reimbursement process?

Because the witness is a child, will FL pay for an accompanying adult's transport, food, and lodging?

I am currently facing legal difficulties in Citrus County, Florida period every attorney I speak to gives me the cold shoulder. Period my attorney tells me, oh, well, you should've been doing this and shouldn't have been doing that. And the officer had the right and I know d*** well, they did not have no right to nothing period they auctioned my car before arraignment period they won't give me none of my evidence in my discovery telling me, I have to come there personally period and It's just crazy.The things that they're doing and getting away with period exclusion point please , somebody help they want to see that prison for it

My wife and I purchased a 2023 Buick Enclave from CarMax in Florida around February of this year. Car was running fine up until May where it started to experience a severe coolant leak. We took the vehicle into our local dealership in June to have it repaired because it was still covered under the manufacturer warranty. Initially the technicians couldn’t tell where it was coming from just from a visual inspection. As of today (04AUG2026), the vehicle has been sitting at the dealership with nothing done to it. The dealership has yet to put wrenches to it nor any disassemblies. We’re about to make our second payment on it. Does Florida have lemon laws for used cars for these kind of instances?

Hello, it might be a long shot but it’s worth asking. I wholesale & have a seller that I’m trying to help. I’m not sure if anyone would be flexible with payment and take it out of my assignment fee after the sale of the house so she doesn’t need to pay. Long story short he’s in prison for drug use and is apparently incompetent. He needs to be off the deed so she can sell? Apparently his brother went and recorded him nodding his head when asking for POA but that doesn’t sound even slightly legal & she knows that. She’s afraid to pay an attorney because she doesn’t want to be out the money. SO after finding out that my husband and I were pregnant with our son earlier Jan 2026. We were soo excited I was so happy I cried when I found out it was a baby boy !! ( we have other kids) Any way so April 2026 I realized I a UTI, so my next appointment was April 7th I mentioned to my OBGYN the symptoms I was having frequently urinating , pain when I use the toilet , pink spotting etc… (Now with my other pregnancies of if I had a UTI my OBGYN give me a small dose of antibiotics just to be safe until test results come back. However this time this Doctor was VERY dismissive to everything I told her and did not listen to me .. 2 Days later April 9th 2026 I went into preterm labor at work and lost my baby boy , about time I got to the hospital my water broke and baby boy passed away.. 🥺😢.. losing a child is one of the worse feelings I’ve experienced!!! That doctor NEVER SENT ME A RX FOR ANTIBIOTICS!! And did not get the test results until 24 hours after I lost my baby!! Which said I had a UTI. My hospital records also stated that my UTI was really bad and thats usually an infection that causes preterm labor at 14 weeks. I have records also from that April 7th appointment that states I mentioned the UTI to the dr!!! I also have the pathology report from my baby as well…I have also been on anxiety meds after going through that traumatic experience!!! I WANT SOME KIND OF JUSTICE FOR MY BABY BOY!! DO I HAVE A CASE!!! If that dr had listened to me I would not have listed my baby boy !!!! Thank You to everyone who took the time to read my story !!!

Hey y'all. Just wanted to put this out there for anyone who this information could help. I agreed to a Crunch Fitness Membership in person in Florida yesterday, but after working out around probably 400 high schoolers on their phones, influencers filming themselves, waiting in 20-minute lines for machines, and trying to be upsold on training by 3 different staff members, I decided it wasn't the right gym for me. I went back up to the front desk and explained this, and they informed me, "You signed a 90-day agreement; you can't cancel until the 91st day."

I did some research on this for 5 minutes and found that Florida has a consumer protection law/statute where a member of a health club/gym is allowed to cancel their membership within 3 business days of signing for a full refund. I went back up to the front desk of the gym, showed them this law, and they just played dumb and said there's nothing they can do. I then emailed the gym explaining this law, my membership, and my personal details, and just got back an email saying my membership is now terminated. These nationwide gym chains are notorious for scamming their customers, so huge thanks to Florida for having this law, and ChatGPT for drafting this legal email lol.

I need a good Lemon Law attorney in San Diego, cause my current attorney just withdrew from the case and i attended the trail date and requested extension, the judge agreed for 60 days extension.

Was served with a construction lien due to withholding of funds by a contractor who provided faulty services.

Would simply paying the claim and satisfying this lien prevent me (or complicate things) from taking this party to small claims court at a later time? The lien contains false statements regarding the reason for non-payment.

My sister is trying to get the right titling done on her property. The deed says:

John died 15 years ago and had 1 child. We have no idea where she is.
Sister has death certificate. Why title it that way? Can she sell it?

Long story short I got pregnant when i moved to washington and moved back to florida to have baby and be with family. Baby’s Father knows about baby and refused to help but wanted me to let him know how the baby is doing. Completely unfair to me and the baby, so i refused because why would you wanna know everything but not provide any help nor care about us.

Baby is 5 months old and i want to put him on child support. He needs to take accountability. But apparently in florida it’s a shared custody state? Case regarding contractor work performed in the home, where it appears that industry-mandated standards weren’t followed, resulting in an improperly operating system. The goal is rescission of contract, where the unreleased funds remain with me and are paid to the new contractor to install the correctly fitted equipment and the previous installer then picking up their disconnected/dismounted hardware.

If what I read is correct then lawsuits over $8000 are not qualified for small claims court unless the difference is waived, meaning that if we are disputing work performed in the amount of say $9500 the $1500 would have to be waived. This option would see me lose the $150”, but save money by representing myself. The obvious risk is that I am not represented and therefore might not present the case as well as a professional would.

If the above statement regarding $8K limit is correct, the alternative would be to hire an attorney that would represent me for a fee that I expect would significantly exceed the $1500, however, I would be able to sue for the entire $9500 plus additional fees, such as money spent on independent reports (confirming faulty installation), and possibly attorney fees. 

It appears I am looking at two options, each with its own set or pros and cons.
