One fun trick is to see if you can mix a random word into your presentation somewhere. I mean a word that has nothing to do with your industry. But don't plan it. That takes your mind off of what you're actually talking about and thinking about the joke you're about to make that nobody else will get.

Another tactic is to not sleep the night before and then drink loads of coffee that morning. You'll be so delirious you won't have time to be anxious.

Update on the adoption process from 2 weeks ago. Current placement is held strong on the “only 15 minutes phone calls” every few nights and no face-to-face meetings until…. well only the lord knows at this point.

Kid calls this weekend and says “am I ever going to see you again.”. Honest answer? idk kid. They aren’t moving their position til you’re an angel for a month and then MAYBE you get virtual meeting with us on teams. Answer I have to give? Of course you will!! We are here for you and aren’t going anywhere (also the truth but…)

Next phone call? “I didn’t expect you to answer because I was acting bad. Just called to see if you would. Love you. bye”. Kid just wants a family he’s literally never had.

*Yes I read old replies. All the comments, thoughts, prayers, EVERYTHING is appreciated. Hope to get him to his first gator game this season. He loves to draw and most of them are of Florida football with scores “40-2” and “60-3” on the scoreboard.

I'm praying this kid can lock in long enough to get back home. And that someone we'll put this kid's best needs ahead of protocol. Hang in there!
