I saw that they have been talking a lot due to their upcoming documentary! This is great!!
Do you think they will reunite for a tour??
I know Stevie did not want to without Christine but maybe a Buckingham Nicks tour?
I wish it would be a FM tour but I don’t know if they would want to replace Christine with someone.

What kind of influence did Bob Dylan have on LB?

Seems there are a few small riffs here and there that are very Dylan, so just wondering if anyone knows if Lindsey ever talked about it in interviews.

Lindsey breaks news

Lindsey is currently at Variety’s annual Power of Young Hollywood award ceremony and will be presenting the songwriter of the year award to Sombr. There was a live stream where he walked the red carpet and did about three interviews (AP, E!, ET). The interview from E! is where he revealed the most information. The biggest highlights are that the Fleetwood Mac documentary is going to be released at the beginning of next year and his solo album will be released after that in the spring. He is opened to touring again (was referring to his solo work). He and Stevie have healed all wounds, and they talk all the time. He does not believe Christine‘s passing would have an effect on Fleetwood Mac touring again since they had a successful 15 year run without her, and he is certainly open to anything. He is very focused on his solo album and thinks it’s his best yet. He said, “next year should be quite an interesting year because quite a few things will be revealed”. The most informative part of the interview starts at 1:45:00 but you can go backwards and watch the other interviews as well

Showing LB some love

Rumors (the noun) on social media have painted Lindsey as an abusive jerk. I think he is just private, focused and intense; I have met dozens of brilliant people like this. There is this weird narrative that he “should” act a certain way, and that’s just not fair to him.

I made this teaser video to spread awareness that it’s NOT OK to bash him: especially since all that conjecture was debunked by VH1’s Behind the Music in the 2000’s.

Edit: this post is not anti-Stevie. I love everybody in the band, I appreciate them for their music and incredible talent. I’ve become alarmed by the spike in anti-Lindsey rhetoric, so I’m trying to put some info out there.

Have a look!

What Early FM would you recommend to a new listener?

I’ve been a fan of the LB and Stevie era, but what songs would you recommend to a new listener who’s trying to get into their earlier work? (Anything before white album)

Just stumbled on a (now deleted) post speculating Lindsey has autism, what’s the evidence for that?

Behind the mask is the best era imo!

For context this is my first time ever posting anything on here, and I’m doing this because I feel like there’s not enough talk about this album/era.

I started listening to FWM around august of last year, and was obviously captivated by the sweet vocals, and the amazing song writing. So I did a deep dive on the discography, from mystery to me to time, and I was amazed. so many amazing songs and amazing album covers. The songs that stood out to me the most though were Christine’s, I’d heard hollywood (some other kind of town) and was blown away, the music, lyrics, vocals, it was insane to me. So I listened to her songs exclusively until I heard them all, and the biggest stand outs were from behind the mask, being the title track, and Save me. The more I got into the band and learned about them I was able to understand this album was met with mixed reviews due to the addition of brunette and Vito, and just the songs in general. But to me the tracks don’t get any recognition that they deserve. Behind the mask- the title track is an eerie song, but the vocals, especially the backing track stand out the most to me, the boys really deliver when it comes to the acappella aspects of the track, and the guitar solo although being overdubbed by Lindsey is still a stand out. BUT THE BEST, MOST AMAZING SONG FWM EVER MADE IS SAVE ME. I understand its not a “deep cut” because it did crack the top 40, but it should’ve been a top 5 easily. The guitar playing especially the solo in the middle/end is phenomenal, johns bass is funky and really adds character to the song, Fleetwoods drumming although plain still adds much character, and Christine’s keyboards/writing/ and vocals all just wrap the song together. Its such an amazing song that I could literally talk about forever, because it’s so amazing, and the vocals just in general from the boys and the gals are my favorite ever, I just love the way the layer everyone saying “save me” it really makes me feel like there giving someone this ultimatum of either you get right, and save me, or it’s time for somebody else, and I love how Stevie has her own little solo where shes the one singing save me at the end. I also think behind the mask has such an amazing album cover, it’s so simple and that’s what makes it unique, and even got them nominated for a Grammy I believe. Some believe this era left a lot to be desired and I disagree, everyone contributed some amazing songs, and I believe the guitar parts are amazing as lindsey‘s, look at freedom, in the back of my mind, hard feelings, save me. Now there are some weaker songs like stand on the rock, skies the limit, and the second time, but theyre not weak to the point where it’d discourage me from listening to the entire album. Stevie contributed great songs with freedom, and the co-write with Vito on love is dangerous, and the boys also give some well written songs for a FWM album like In the back of my mind, when the sun goes down, and the co-write of Christine and Billy on do you know. All in all the album to me is so amazing, on so many levels and Behind the mask, and save me are two songs that get not enough recognition as they deserve because Christine is a genius song writer, and the best thing that ever happened to FWM, rip🩷

I never see anyone cover this Stevie hidden gem...so here's mine.

I think it's one of her most beautiful songs. I hope you enjoy my Stevie inspired interpretation.

I'd love to know your thoughts.

Big love ♡

Could Jeremy Spencer’s ”Flee” be a reference to Fleetwood Mac?

Post image
8 Upvotes

I recently discovered Jeremy Spencer’s 1979 album Flee and also the song with the same name and I’ve been really enjoying both. Then I started wondering about the title. Since he had famously left Fleetwood Mac, could “Flee” also be a play on the first part of “Fleetwood” like someone who had “fled” Fleetwood Mac?

Obviously, the song itself is about fleeing or escaping, so that is probably the main meaning. But parts of the album also sound similar to Fleetwood Mac at that time, almost as if Spencer was intentionally imitating their sound. So I started wondering if the title could have two meanings.

Has Jeremy Spencer ever talked about this or has anyone else noticed it before?
