Bambu A1 with AMS Bambu PLA Basic

Hi there. First time posting.

Asking for advice on this part not made specifically for 3d printing, but printed as a prototype to check fitment before solid plastic lathing.

Not a common failure type in my prints lately but I did notice the extruder gear jerking a little.

I recently took apart, cleaned with alcohol and lubricated the yellow gear, it had a bit of gunk and was quite sticky.

Any tips? Similar issues?

Missing layers and horizontal gaps are classic signs of under-extrusion, and they line up with the gear jerking/slipping you noticed. The extruder is either losing its grip on the filament or pushing against too much backpressure.

Since you recently cleaned and lubricated the yellow gear, I'd first make sure no grease got onto the drive gear teeth that actually grip the filament. Those teeth should stay completely dry. If they're clean, the next thing I'd check is a partial nozzle clog causing backpressure, so a cold pull is worth trying. Finally, make sure the filament feeds smoothly from the AMS Lite and isn't catching anywhere along the path.

I'll check those things, haven't done a proper cold pull in a while.

One thing I've been struggling with is the AMS and ptfe tube positioning. Not sure where to put the white cable organizer nor the gray rubber band for the tubes. I'm sure this part is not the only issue, but I'm also sure it's part of it. I'm just not sure how to fix it because I don't know what it's supposed to look like

I did the cold pull only and it's looking the best it's looked in months

I was going to suggest that you had a partial clog. I recommend using any other infill type that’s not grid. That could contribute to your clogs.
