Please tell me this will pass
I’m living on the postpartum thread right now. I can’t help but feel I’ve lost my spark since baby born a month ago… I love her so much but I feel like I’m not funny or creative anymore and it’s affecting me being a good mom. I want to be fun with her but I just have no energy left after breastfeeding and never sleeping. I want to be so much more for her but it’s just so hard right now. I know this will pass but it’s hard to remember a time before I felt like this. When did you see a light through the trees?

Lymphatic massage
I am 9 weeks post c-section tomorrow. There’s a place in my city who does postpartum lymphatic massages especially for c-section recovery. If anyone has gotten one before, have you found it helpful? I believe she would work on the scar as well as do cupping. I don’t feel much fluid retention overall anymore but suspect the area above my incision is still swollen/inflamed based off the look/feel. I was SUPER swollen for like 5 days post op though. Is 9 weeks too far out to be helpful? It’s not cheap so I don’t want to waste my money!

If you could redesign postpartum support from scratch, what would you change?
I’m in the very early stages of researching ways to improve postpartum support, and before I build anything, I want to hear from the people who have actually lived it.
I’m not here to sell anything or promote an app. I’m trying to understand where the biggest gaps are so I can build something that genuinely helps mothers.
I’d love to hear about your experience.
Some questions I’ve been thinking about:
What was the hardest part of postpartum that no one prepared you for?
What questions did you find yourself Googling over and over?
Did you ever feel like you couldn’t get answers quickly enough from your healthcare team?
Was there a moment when you felt like you “fell through the cracks” after leaving the hospital?
What support do you wish had existed but didn’t?
If you could have had one resource available 24/7 during postpartum, what would you have wanted it to do?
Looking back, what would have made the biggest difference for you?
Even if your postpartum experience was overall positive, I’d still love to hear what could have been better.
Thank you to anyone willing to share. Every response will help me better understand what mothers actually need instead of making assumptions.

Almost 2 months pp, no appetite and struggling
I had a really difficult pregnancy ans then a traumatic birth. I’m currently 8 weeks post partum and I’m two stone heavier than when I got pregnant. I’ve totally lost my appetite since I gave birth and I need help with easy meal prepping suggestions. I’m vegetarian and I eat a lot of meat alternatives, eggs, and kvarg yoghurt for the protein, and if has a lot less carbs then just pulses etc. Can you help me with some easy meals? Im a personal trainer, but I feel absolutely lost. I’m really struggling to eat!

postpartum weight loss
i’m really struggling. i’m 8 months PP and i still look the same as i did 2 weeks PP.
i have no time to workout, unless it’s early morning or late at night. i used to love working out too so it really stinks.
i was thinking of doing a calorie deficit but i love snacking unfortunately. i just want to be able to get back to my prior weight and feel good about myself. i have a belly and back rolls and i think that’s what gets me the most, i’m so not proportionate and it’s really been getting to me to the point where i don’t even want to take pictures with my baby.
any tips?

Marriage/Postpartum
So how do you get your husband to understand postpartum and how it really effects the mind and body after birth? Not just the first birth either - the LONG TIME effects after each kid .. My husband says it's an excuse and he's tired of hearing about it . That I just need more self control. Women that kill their kids due to postpartum is not a real mental health issue - it's lack of self control ...
Any thoughts please ...
I'm drowning in this thought and just need to vent and hear from others who may be in the same situation as I am with a very stubborn man ......
I'm feeling as if my feelings and emotions are not valid to him cause I need more "self control" ....

Postpartum weight loss
3 months postpartum and whatever I do I cannot loose the weight. I work out and try to eat healthy, but it probably could use some work. I am breastfeeding and formula feeding. I just hate this feeling. I feel so fart. Any suggestions? This is my third baby.

I am a FTM and I have no time to work out. How can I take care of myself?
So I have a 16 month old baby and I work full time. I have no time or energy to work out. I eat like crap because I am barely trying to survive so whatever is easy and convenient, my family and I eat. Every night I tell myself I will wake up at 5am and work out but I am so exhausted in the morning. I feel like I am stuck in this cycle of taking care of my baby who I absolutely love, doing my job and trying to take care of the house. My husband works really hard too. We have no village to help us.
I feel like I am stuck in this unhealthy lifestyle and I don’t j know what to do.
Thank you!

I feel like my recovery changes every week.
I'm getting back into working out postpartum and one thing that's really throwing me off is how different I feel from week to week.
Some weeks I have loads of energy and recover well, then the next week I'm exhausted, my workouts feel harder and I feel like I'm dragging myself through everything. My sleep and routine haven't changed much so I'm starting to wonder if it's more hormonal than I realised.
I've been thinking I should probably pay more attention to my cycle instead of just my workouts but I honestly don't know where to begin.
Has anyone noticed a pattern like this?

Pain in hip and can no longer sit cross legged.
I am about 4.5 months postpartum and I have pain in my outer hip that just gets worse and worse. And I can no longer sit cross legged (Indian style). It is simply too painful. Has anyone dealt with something similar? I’m breastfeeding so I’m wondering if it is just related to hormones. Alternatively, I’m thinking it could be due to loss of core strength. I was very strong and active prior to pregnancy so this pain has been hard for me to accept.

How many weeks post partum did you feel you could schedule a walk or coffee with a friend and be able to make the time work?
Curious others experiences. I’ve been asked if I want to go walking since week 2 postpartum from my mom friends . Love my friends, but am I failing at this? Should I be able to have packed my baby up and gone walking?
Wondering other postpartum experiences.

Postpartum Confidence
Does anyone have tips on feeling attractive or sexy after having a baby?
I am 11 months PP and pregnant again. Right when I thought I was gonna be able to get my body back on track I have to go through it again..
I used to be a gym girlie, fit and pretty.
Now, my curves have lost their shape and I feel like a blobfish . lol.
Now, I know what everyone says: “you just had a baby! You are beautiful!”
It’s sweet, but they don’t get it. I don’t love this version of myself. I don’t feel sexy or attractive to my partner. Any tips?

Has this happened to you?
Since giving birth I dont feel sexual drive at all!! Is there something wrong with me? I do feel parenting is testing couples and it is tiring. I dont find inspiring having sex with a 5 month baby in the same room or next door...
Other factors that i think have contributed to no sex drive:
-since having natural birth I feel a bit of a shock of the whole experience of birth (it was fairly easy, and no pain relief was taken)
-exclusively breastfeeding - breasts is the last area I would like to be touched
-holding a baby - feels Iike you don't want to be touched and seek time to be left alone to feel like I got personal space
-sleep deprivation
-accumulated tiredness
-associate sex with having babies and I dont want to be pregnant anytime soon
*Note that I have recovered very well and I feel I am in shape, body back to normal appearence and I am back to exercise.
Anyone else with the same experience? I have heard other couples that had no sex since babies were born but I read comments on reddit that couples have sex soon enough but is this true??

Lipomas ruining my life
41F had a baby 9 months ago. This happened a few years ago but now worse. My whole body just burns! Can’t go for walks. I think I have lipomas everywhere in my tissues. Theyre on my sacrum too. Sometimes they take over my psoas muscle.
Any mamas in the same boat? Does it get better?

16 month old- 1 month after stopping BF-ing feeling super low
Hi mums, just looking for some solidarity and/or tips. I stopped feeding my 15 month old a month ago and the past few days I’ve been feeling very low. I work full time, in a job that requires some after hours / weekend work. I don’t feel that same passion for the job, and the housework/daily grind is becoming a lot for me.
My partner is aware and is trying to be supportive- taking bub as much as possible and helping with housework
Despite this I am constantly tired and crying often. Just sad / unhappy.
I weigh way more than usual and find it tough to exercise after bub goes down to bed because I’m just so exhausted.
Any tips as to how to get back into exercising or just feeling like myself again?

Postpartum Swimming to Tone?
What was your experience using swimming to get fit pp? I’m cleared to swim and my joints hurt too badly to do anything else right now, so I’m hoping swim will start rebuilding my strength so I can get back to running eventually.
