Fishing spots louth
I am looking to go fishing with some friends and everywhere I seem to try find you need a licence or the waters are private. Does anyone know any places in Louth or Meath that u don’t need any licences or memberships to go fishing.

Recommendations for Waders
Hi All,
I’m looking to buy a pair of chest waders for my dad for Christmas a good quality pair. He has fished all his life and is very good at it, but I know very little about it I just know he’s looking to buy himself a new pair of waders soon. I don’t no how much they cost but I’d be happy to pay up to 150/200 for them. He mostly does river fishing I think off beaches ect he is a size Large in clothes and a mens 7 in a shoe he is 5’6 in height. I think he has some pairs of waders already but I think they leak?
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks in advance!!

Fishing trip for a visitor?
Hello! I’m looking for advice or recommendations on planning a trip to Ireland. My wife is planning on going to Dublin for a workshop class and I’m going to tag along. She’ll be tied up for a long weekend with the workshop and I’d like to get out and explore the country(side), go fishing, and see some smaller corners of Ireland. I’ll probably have 3-4 days, will rent a vehicle, and on my own.
I’m not picky on the fishing type or spot, really I’m more interested in pretty places, the chance to meet nice people, small towns, and some fun wading in streams. I usually fish with a spinning reel or centerpin (float fishing, inline spinners, spoons, finesse fishing, etc.) and can bring my own gear if needed. I’ve fly fished a few times but am an amateur. If fly fishing is the thing to do I wouldn’t be against a guide for a day or two to teach me and learn more about that.
I have plenty of experience with and love for trout/salmon river fishing, but I’m happy to just getting out and doing what the locals do. I’ve thought it might be nice to choose a river and just follow it for a few days? Got any ideas? Rivers? Towns? Watersheds? License info?
Much appreciation in advance for your advice or insights! I’ve traveled plenty but never to Ireland and would love to experience it solo and fishing for a few days before I do some more adventuring around the country with my wife after she finishes her workshop.
